I was just wondering if anyone would be able to suggest some ideas for printing a large picture onto some fabric, preferrably something around an A2 paper size. Someone suggested burning the image onto it via use of an over head projector, dark room & photographic paint, however this sounds a little expensive and not something someone would have everyday access to, any other ideas would be much appreciated

Printing a stencil and fabric paint might work for something simple, otherwise I don't really know. Have you tried googling for options?

Yeh i had a look... the best options i came across were transfer printing (as if it was a t-shirt) or attaching the fabric to freezer paper, however this sounds like something that couldnt be done on a large scale, and im concerned that the picture wont match up if i just try to piece a lot of smaller versions together...

Might look into this: I started doing some research for you:

Screen print it. It's relatively cheap (I can actually do it for you for free). Just send the picture and I'll make the shirt (or shirts). Screen printing can get expensive when buying silk screens and paint, but overall it is more cost effective than other forms (unless you're making home made stencils and spray painting the design on the fabric yourself).

thanks for the offer rosie, your too kind but i was thinking more along the lines of it being printed onto something poster size or bigger (preferably for a banner)

Burning?
If you have an overhead projector, just project it on the fabric and draw over it, it's a bit time consuming, but it works fine.

Just put the fabric in your printer.

is the image a solid colour image like a logo, or is it more like a picture with all sorts of shading?
