the CIA world factbook states that the total wealth of the world is $69.49 trillion.

divide it up amongst us 6 billion = $11,500 each.

About 5 grand? Sounds about right, although my maths is rather sketchy.

This just comes to show how much the world's wealth is not equally divided. You have the small percentage on top which obviously has the majority of that, while there's the bottom which has almost nothing.

although it is a very rough maths, it seems to be correct, and this prooves that there is more than enough for everyone

u cant really work it out that way. u cant say this proves theres enough for every1, its just a number. the value of something is determined by lots of factors, if u simply divided the wealth in that way it would become meaningless. "wealth" is about the quality of life

I would agree in a sense that numbers are irrelevant, for example my net worth is about £10000 in the red (student loans, very little cash reserve) but for now I have free healthcare, plenty of financial access to food and adequate shelter, water and heating plus enough in my budget for my choice of recreation and the occasional travel abroad. However I still believe that this does prove that there is enough for everyone because if that wealth was redistributed in relation to buying power in regards to the relevant economies we would all be "rich", and it would be much more than the $11,500 each as quoted in the op.
