Defend the four found guilty by Unison witch-hunt (http://socialistresistance.org/?p=611)

The kangaroo court set up by the unison bureaucracy (called the hearings) has found the four Socialist Party members (Glenn Kelly, Brian Debus, Suzanne Muna and Onay Kasab) guilty of producing a leaflet (to paraphrase) “that could give racist offensive and was disrespectful to the unions standing orders committee” .
The hearing continues today and sentence is expected to be given some time in the afternoon.
All supporters of the four are called on to flood the union hq with protests against this blatant witch-hunt. The charge of racism in particular, no matter how its framed could not only jeopardise their union membership but also their employment chances.
This witch hunt has dragged on for over 2 years and is a disgrace to the trade union movement.
All four have a long and proud record of fighting racism and fascism in the workplace and the wider community.
Two of them in fact are part of what is called by unison BME members (black and minority ethnic).
The offending leaflet itself was agreed and distributed at the 2007 Unison conference in Brighton by many black members at the time.

So, basicly, the charges against them was basicly that they dared to try make the leadership in UNISON accountable >.>
That racism charge doesnt seem right to me at all either. There's a more in-depth description of what it is on the Socialist Party's website and I reckon it's more of just a smear to distract from the main charge of questioning the authority of the leadership.
