Queen - Greatest band of all time?

Considering all the truly amazing songs they have prodused, the question must be asked: - Are they the greatest band of all time...?

Well im not sure but they are sevearly amazing especially Brian May and his guitar solo's.

The Roots are in my opinion the greatest band of all time bar none.

Basically because they are so versitile

they have done jazz, hip hop, rock, soul, funk

I must be the only one in the world who absolutley loathes queen with a passion.

I find all of their songs to be extremely annoying(shrill screeches, cliche and tiresome lyrics including god praising) and I just can't sit and listen to them for any period of time....Unless forced.....

I remember when I was in kindergarden, they used to blast bohemian rhapsody(rasping the first time you hear it, and gets worse everytime after that) over and over again in the van that I took to school and it absolutley infuriated me because I was the only one who didn't want to hear it! Everybody else cheered when it was blasted and I was left with not only a pounding headache, but the song(plus the voices of those who sang along) remained stuck in my head all day everyday. I took that van up until 5th grade... and that particular Queen song(among many others) never got old to the driver, driver's assistant, or my busmates.

I get this rehashing feeling of disgust and anger I had as a young child everytime I hear the band or the word Queen.

So thank you for bringing it back(PLUS suggesting that they were the greatest band ever) once again, ak47.

I swear to god bicycle race makes me want to go postal.

AND we are the champions played a singnificant role in my disgust with the mighty ducks.

I fucking love Queen! They may very well be the greatest rock band of all time. For those of you who are into rap, I'm quite sure Queen did a recording of another one bites the dust with a rapper, wycleff jean, I think his name was.

Queen is deffinitely one of the greatest rock bands of all time. fat bottomed girls, hampton, is about fat-bottomed girls and how much he loves them. I think it's a great song with great lyrics, because I too, love fat-bottomed girls. :D

I had a similar experience to 187's except it wasn't an every day thing. I was stuck on a school bus on an all day trip while omeone played Styx. If you don't know who Styx is you DON'T want to know. They are awful, far worse than Queen could ever hope to be.

I'll say this about Queen, Brian May actually, I like his style of playing.

Queen's okay, but they're not really my cup of tea.. I mostly listen to hip-hop, jazz, and Latin. But, I like "We are the Champions," "We Will Rock You," and the one with the piano where he's all like "I see a little silhouette......" That's "Bohemian Rhapsody," right?? :huh:

As for being an ass or not if anyone is going to declare that one band or another is the "greatest" you better be ready for some flack (especially if the band in question is U2).

I just realized you are correct and Green Day is the best punk band EVER. Supertramp is probably the best suck rock band EVER, oh wait you did mention Genesis they are certainly one of the best suck rock bands. And Phil Collins RULZ&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33; Deep Purple, Ritchie Blacmore now does gnu age bullshit Renaissance music. Oh you forgot about Toto and Hall & Oates too, now there&#39;s some great suck rock. While you&#39;re at it don&#39;t forget Journey and REO Speedwagon, or Styx.

I would say they were a great band but I wouldnt class them as the greatest band ever.

I think they produced amazing songs, and debatable the best ever song, Bohemian Rhapsody.

It is between that and John Lennon Imagine as to which is the best.
