Whats your views on this?

I gave 50p to some guy (slightly drunk) who told me he was 43 and gave me a hug. Was a rather entertaining moment, think he went into the chip shop to buy himself some food.

Still I avoid giving like that and normally buy the big issue. Wish there was more I could do it help.

Wondered if there was any marxist groups in my area which does anything to help the homeless. May research that tomorrow. I just did a Defferal exam on global issues. (Basically they messed up my exam time the first time round a couple of months back)

LCAP do it through direct action and empowering people along class struggle lines.

Sounds good. I will look them up. I really should become more politically active, considering I study it as a subject.

Yeah thats fair enough. The guy I saw today just looked depressed and hungry. lol made me chuckle saying "Just because I have clothes does not mean I have food". Thats as I was turning round to give him money. I walked past saying "No" to begin with, then changed my mind. I dunno the guy caught me at a good moment. :thumbup1:

There's this bloke in bristol who goes around telling poems and then asks for money. It's a nice effort and i always spare a bit more.

Always cool when they do something nice like that.

One Big issue seller was calling out "Big! Big! Big!" every so often, futher along the high street there was a guy shouting "Buy the big issue here, please". The guy just shouting out "Big!" seemed to be doing better at selling. Ended up buying from the guy shouting out "buy the big issue here, please", just because I felt sorry he was not selling as well and making more effot.

Yeah I usually give all of my spare cash, which is a lot less than it sounds.

With the shengen borders becoming even open than before, the beggars have made an appearance to the streets during the past years. Now all the news and racists are hyped up about "lazy gypsys coming to get our hard earned money". I sometimes give these poor folk the spare change just to piss off the surrounding elitists.

I love their faces when I do this... Both of their faces.

I'm in montana, so there aren't exactly streets for homeless people to beg on, but there are some living in tunnels. However, I am only a young child who would not be aloud to be in such places. There are so many homeless in montana that there is a tent city outside of a town called missoula. Homeless people are to afraid to beg here because they allways get beaten to death by drunk rednecks. Very sad.

I spend time in Luton, so I see more than my share of homeless people.
If someone just asks for money and I have it, I'll give it to them. But all too often they'll just corner me and try some pathetic scam.
