Hi I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good biography on Rosa Luxemburg. I have only heard of her in a few books I've read on the Russian Revolution, and seemed like a person worth learning about.

The West-German director Margarethe von Trotha made a movie about her in 1986, (die Geduld der) Rosa Luxemburg.
As other biopics it contains dramatised quotations from her letters and key events from her biography. It is a surprisingly accurate illustration if for the informed viewer with a lot of Gone-with-the-Wind/Zhivago bathos sorrounding her love affair added to please the rest.
The most powerful scenes are the ones where she quoted ad verbum - before the court, for instance; dictating a pamphlet, or holding a speech. The death is reenacted step-by-step according to her murderer Waldemar Pabst with one significant omission: he claimed repeatedly to be following direct orders of Friedrich Ebert.
