There's really very little difference between the two, and in actual practice (a revolution) the two sects would probably (or maybe should) just join together. The difference which is often pointed out between the two tendencies (anarcho-communism and collectivist anarchism) is that the former supports the phrase "to each according to his own need" indefinitely, and the latter supports "to each according to his labor". Basically, collectivists support socializing industry, but rewarding people based on how much work they put in, while an-coms support socializing industry and the distribution of goods, where everyone receives their own share of the "pie" so to speak no matter what work they do.

Communism is based on free consumption of all while collectivism is more likely to be based on the distribution of goods according to the labour contributed. However, most anarcho-collectivists think that, over time, as productivity increases and the sense of community becomes stronger, money will disappear

We understand that we won't beable to dictate the course of the revolution, and nor would we want to- we are libertarians afterall! Anarchist-communists take part in the class struggle stressing that the liberation of the working class lies abolishing market systems. However, at the end of the day the class will be doing it themselves, so it is always the job of revolutionaries to propagate and agitate.
Basically, we do not know what will happen. What I expect is different locales trying different things during the revolutionary period, working out what is best for them and the groups they federate with.

Anarchist-communism only really flourished after the death of Bakunin, as the Italian anarchists, out of respect to Bakunin, didn't openly proclaim their anarchist communist ideas. So, that quote isn't really relevant because the communist trend of anarchism didn't really exist fully in his lifetime.

Of course, I wasn't asking for a definite answer about what would happen nor a blueprint for what should happen, I fully agree that it is not our place to specify this, it was more a bunch of personal predictions I was looking for but I guess 'we dont know' answers that.

Barabbas, I think most would accept some form of Anarcho-collectivist management of capital will exist after the revolution until capital becomes abolished. I think I would follow the quote from the Anarchist FAQ.
