Liberte, egalite, solidarite!

Greetings to my comrades of all revolutionary and ideological preferences in celebration of Bastille Day (http://www.marseillaise.org/audio/rugby_world_cup.mp3)! Let us celebrate the world's first great revolution of the modern era, tip our red bonnets (http://www.crystalinks.com/redbonnet.jpg) to those who smashed l'ancien regime (http://www.crystalinks.com/bastille.jpg), to those that taught the world what revolution is (http://www.myartprints.co.uk/kunst/ferdinand_victor_eugene_delacr/58.jpg), and those that keep the revolutionary fire burning to this day (http://tarnac9.wordpress.com/texts/the-coming-insurrection/)! Bastille Day greetings to all comrades!

Hmm... The Coming Insurrection sounds interesting. Has anyone read it?

Happy Bastille Day btw.

Edit: realized that it comes out in English on Aug 31 but the French version seems to be out already.

Yes, I just finished it. It is a fantastic read, but if you are turned off by post-left literature then it probably isn't for you (it is rather Crimethinc.-esque)

If your curiosity was piqued by Beck's review, then you will be surely disappointed. He portrays it as another anarchist cookbook or something, but it's not. It is very similar to the book Expect Resistance, except from a French perspective instead of American, which is understandable since the authors of both where most likely influenced by the same writers (Debord, Deleuze, Guattari, Alain Badiou, Giorgio Agamben).

Happy Bastille day! Any movement struggling against a corrupted monarchy deserves recognition in my books.

Yes, I c&p'd it from the link above to Wordpad and printed it out a couple weeks ago. It's already gotten the highlighter and red pen underline treatment start to finish. It's an important piece of work because it really does strive to be more than just theory, but to envision and encourage a praxis that embodies that theory. To me that's the key point that sets it apart from a lot of the academic "post-left" type stuff
