So a friend and I are about to embark on a culture jamming venture. We have founded a "pop" boy band that will appear on the local punk music scene. (he used to be in a band and he and the promoter are on good terms) We're essentially going to poses as exaggerations of society, being sell outs, apathetic towards political issues, naive about the power of corporations or the government. Essentially, we aim at being absurd beyond reason, and attempting to shake the liberal well being of the local college town we live near. I just would like to know your views on either culture jamming in general or this idea. What do you think it could lead to? I have no illusions, it will be a joke, but eventually the audience will quite laughing and realize the gravity of America and the world's situaiton.
