Shamelessly nicked from Manics.co.uk
Manic Street Preachers release a two-cd collection of b-sides, fourteen cover versions and unreleased rarities on 14th July.
The compilation, entitled ‘Lipstick Traces (A Secret History Of The Manic Street Preachers)’ mines the Manics’ rich seam of flipsides and covers as well as featuring two previously unreleased tracks. 'Judge Y’rself’, the last song the Manics wrote as a four-piece, was recorded for the movie soundtrack Judge Dread but never saw a release. The band has recently remixed this with Dave Eringa. The lost single, ‘4 Ever Delayed’, was produced by Steve Osborne.
‘Lipstick Traces (A Secret History Of The Manic Street Preachers)’ will be available on two formats: a double CD, initial quantities of which will be a six page digipack format, and very limited triple vinyl with a flocked (furry material sleeve). This will be available online only 3 weeks after the CD. The band is also creating ten pieces of exclusive artwork that can be housed in the digipack cd version of the album. These will not be available inside the format when purchased instore, rather they will be available to download from various internet sites (including www.manics.co.uk). Downloading these ten inserts will therefore complete the album’s artwork. More details to be announced soon.
The band have taken into account the rescent fan survey on manics.co.uk whilst compiling the track listing, which reads:
