The murder of Teisha Green shows how tragic hate violence is. Transphobia and homophobia and racism and sexism, ect are all terrible products of this American society. For those who are unfamiliar Teisha Green was a transwoman of color who was brutally murdered.

Did such things not exist prior to the establishment of the United States?

I might point out also that this "American society" has provided you with the means of expressing yourself in this forum, allowing you to say anything you wish. Call me crazy, but I don't see it as being all bad.

In quite a few older societies there was much more acceptance. I've pointed it out before:

-In many Native American societies, two spirits were considered not only to be equal, but to have special spiritual powers

-In the Mexica and Mayan civilizations, Muxes have been widely accepted and certain Deities took BOTH male and female form.

-In India, Hijras are believed to have special spiritual power.
