A racist group has told immigrants to leave Northern Ireland within days or face bomb attacks.
The chilling threat follows recent race-hate violence which led to more than 100 Romanians fleeing their homes in Belfast.
A letter from the youth wing of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA) was sent to the Belfast Islamic Centre, the Polish Association and Indian Community Centre.
It warned: "No sympathy for foreigners, get out of our Queen's country before our bonfire night (July 11) and parade day (July 12).
"Other than that your building will be blown up. Keep Northern Ireland white. Northern Ireland is only for white British."
The letter was marked Ulster Young Militants and bore the logo of far-right group Combat 18.
The police have said no organised group was behind the recent racist attacks.
But the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities disputed that during a meeting in Belfast today.
Spokesman Patrick Yu said: "I think there is no doubt it was organised against those families."
The attacks on the homes of the Roma people in the mainly Protestant Village area of Belfast led to claims that Northern Ireland was the race-hate capital of Europe.
Victims were forced to shelter in a church, which was then damaged by vandals, before they were given emergency housing.
Mr Yu, executive director at the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (Nicem), said race-hate crime had grown steadily in recent years, with assaults, intimidation, harassment and robberies.
In March there was violence between Polish football fans and local supporters.
The Northern Ireland Executive of ministers has pledged to do its best to combat racism.

I wouldn't expect anything less from the loyalist scum:rolleyes:

This is the logical activity for Loyalism sadly- maintaining the purity of their turf and "keeping Ulster British".

I think their bark is worse than their bite on this one. What is worrying though is the continuous harassment of immigrants which highlights that the attacks of a few weeks ago were not simply a one off. In addition, terrorist tactics seem to be commonly contemplated by the far right now all across the UK. On how large a scale we can't be sure as all we have is the media's interpretation of it. Worrying times though. I just hope the threat is not as bad as it appears to be.

I sense another "North Korea" worthy bomb threat... a bunch of hype over the fact that they MIGHT have a bomb or two
But to bomb the entire area for the sake of immigrants living there?
I hope that bomb goes off in some High school dropout Fascist's basement while he keeps it...

Well I apologise in advance if it offends you... but I've always had something of a prejudice against those who drop out of highschool before getting their diploma
Its laziness

Again I apologise, but I also see almost every dropout that DECLARES him/herself a dropout to be either a petty small time criminal... or a White Nationalist
Education is key, especially for something as vital as communism

This is quite baffling. I know a lot of people who dropped out of school at 16 so they could do apprenticeships, learn trades and get employment as soon as possible. They are the exact opposite of lazy.

What a ridiculous thing to say!

Maybe some dropouts have emotional issues and are seen as a problem by the school and don't receive the positive reinforcement they need? Or maybe they are to busy working to try to help keep their family eating or living under a roof? Maybe they are constantly bullied and can't take it anymore? Maybe their school just isn't any good and they aren't learning anything?

Use your fucking head before you make ridiculous statements like the one you just made.

Again I suppose its personal opinion
I was brought up believing you needed a high school diploma before you could begin any sort of apprenticeship

And Hammer and Pickle, Please chill out. I know three people personally who chose to drop out and became drug dealers in a nearby town.

Alright fine, to spare us a bickering match it was a bad example
To resay my statement, I hope the bomb blows up in some Fascist Neo Nazi's basement
No, I'm not affiliating all dropouts with Nazis
How's that?

For the record, Northern Ireland doesnt really have the north american equivalent of 'high school' but an 11-16 system of public or comprehensive schooling like in GB so i doubt its applicable in this case anyway.

There is however a cultural 'norm' to leave school at 16, which is the legal leaving age.

Personally i had to leave university before finishing because it was too damn expensive, but that is for another thread.

I'll get me coat.

Loyalists are known for eloquently made threats. What they are not known for however is making a viable bomb.

Id like to say that I think the Socialist Party in Northern Ireland are doing a great job of providing assistance to the Immigrants in the North. After the recent attacks on the Romanian Immigrants in South Belfast I think we should all admire the way in which Some of those living in the neighbourhood organised a group to guard the homes from further violence - Persisting and continuing after numerous death threats.

Fair play to them.

The Miami Showband Murders proves that fact.

The majority of dropouts come from the lowest socio-economic groups, many of whom leave in order to work immediately so their families can survive in the short-term future. So lets take it to the logical conclusion - you really don't like working class students do you? Because these people are apparently 'lazy'.

You're an idiot.

I agree. I had friends who dropped out after getting GCSEs to work. Some managed to pull themselves up to take A levels and work part time. One is going to uni in just over a years time. Fair play to him, considering he was kicked out of his parents house and has had lots of other issues.

But calling drop outs 'lazy' is a classical response that classical Liberals/Neo liberals take.

Threatening to bomb the Polish association building? What will they do next, shoot Polish pizza delivery people?

Dude, they're pussy fascists. The worst they'll do to Polish pizza guys is playing the 'I didn't order SAUSAGE on my pizza!' trick they saw on Drawn Together.

Anyway, I wonder what the IRA has to say about this.

they're pussy fascists. .

I'd strongly advise you not to use the word 'pussy' in that context.

You'll find yourself with a restriction tag.

Just a friendly warning.

The IRA arent around to offer an opinion anymore. They disbanded in 2005.

....

Sorry, but I don't see how that's an attack on women or gays, which I'm assuming that's how you're interpreting it. Do we really have to be THIS politically correct?

Come on.

I'm pretty sure there have been attacks by people claiming to be the 'real IRA' as recently as late 2008, if my memory serves me right.

There's any number of alternative terms you could have used to the 'p' word, you didnt have to choose that just cause its the most biting buzz-term.

Besides which, i dont think it belongs in the midst of mature progressives, it gives me the impression of rebellious 14 year olds who think it's macho to use homophobic words and smoke stolen cigarettes in their mother's back garden.

The provisional IRA (the legitimate IRA) and the 'Real IRA' are not one and the same entity.

The RIRA is a rogue splinter group attempting to de-rail the peace process.

I've never known it to be homophobic, otherwise I wouldn't have said it.

Interesting. Wikipedia seems to think there are organizations called the OIRA and CIRA as well.
