I'm really not a fan of this PBS series. People should be educated about WK of course, and maybe this is good as an introduction to what happened. In terms of the series, I dislike how the episode on Tecumseh was framed, and generally dislike the portrayal of past Native militants as people who embody "American ideals" or fit into the "American historical narrative." That shit is frustrating.

I had to screen the series yesterday to see whether or not we could play it on the reception area TVs at work (unfortunately, a bit too much swearing and a few too many shots of Metacom/Phillip's head on a pike :( ). I thought it was rather good, but as FreeFocus mentioned, there is a bit of that annoying "they helped shape America" rhetoric that is so damned frustrating.

Have yet to watch it.
Too long to watch on a shared computer without one of my little
brothers wanting to play games.
I'll have to wait...
