I know that some people say that in the deepest deep of their psychological heart they find: reason:cool:

I feel that in the deepest deep of my reason lies my: heart:)

This is not a question for psychiatrists or psychologists, but a question which I believe all people encounter sooner or later.

Anyone want to answer this question: which is the strongest, the heart or the brain/reason? Perhaps this is different for different people - but I have a feeling it is the heart which is the strongest. What is the strongest, if any?

Answers are very welcome.

I would say heart because it is what sustains all life. Without your heart your brain wouldn't work. I'm thinking this should be in the philosophy section or something too.

Well, since my brain is the size of two of my fists, and my heart the size of one, I'll say my brain wins on this one. Raise your fists in solidarity!

Without the brain the heart is troublesome, and without the heart the brain is meaningless. We need to utilise both in harmony to achieve the best results. Use the thought and reasoning of the brain in order to achieve the ideals of the heart.

It depends, are you asking the question literally?

Some people are mainly thinkers, some people are mainly feelers, some people manage to utilise both almost equally.

which is the strongest, the heart or the brain

Well the heart is a muscle while the brain consists mainly of neurons, so a revolutionary vote for the heart from me. :redstar2000:

One who lacks brain is a burden on others and oneself. One who lacks heart, well... lets just say that an enlightened decision does not require any feeling. Not just that, but heart can even hinder the clarity of ones thought.

So brains for me thank you very much.

I would have to agree with this. They are both equally important.

Without a heart there is no compassion, and without a brain there is no reason. Without either your are a cruel being. They are both equally important.

Christians over here are know-it-all world improvers. Or at least they think they are. The religion culture differs between nordic countries and the america. I am sorry for my lack of clarity.

So your christian are hippies and PETA? That doesn't sound all that bad at all. Ours are like a cross between G.W, 1960's Alabama, the Police, and Crusaders.

I know, and no our christians are not bad exactly. Terribly annoying would be more accurate description. Our christians too value the status quo fanatically though. They are naive in thinking that "involvement in the politics" and lifestylism could actually improve something.

But now look at us! This goes so widely off-topic that the mods are turning red...

Brain makes heart work and coordinates everything if i am not mistaken, so brain? But i really fail to see the point of this thread, if there is a deeper meaning..

I don't believe he was being literal. I think the question pertains to whether emotion such as compassion, love, generosity, etcetra, are the most important (heart). Or logic and reasoning (brain) most important.

This is an infuriating question and it reeks of idealism.
If i understand it correctly, it makes a dichotomy over reason/emotion.

Of course reason is the one and only resource we have to use to get things done in the revolution and in general. The heart is a frickin muscle, like your bicep.
What are you gonna do? "Oh ye workers love your fellowman, and give the cappies BIG HUGS to let us free, and we will all cry and laugh and gather flowers at sunset!"
The only 'speciality' the heart it has is the (incorrect) association with love and feelings by poets and teenage gals & lads.

Emotions are not to be trusted-when important matters are at stake.I.e. if we resorted to emotion we would run out and burn the bus stops to fight capitalism, beat up cops and their families, and other stupid stuff.
