I think there's already a couple of threads on this. I saw both of them at the BFI and honestly thought they were pretty great. The original 'Che' film which was made just after he was murdered was badly made, insensitive to facts, and pretty boring, and the 'Fidel' television production wasn't much better, so these films were a breath of fresh air. They were almost documentary like in character, part 2 was sort of cinema verite style in a way. If I wasn't interested in Che I probably would've found them a little boring though, so they're really films for fans and scholars.

I thought they were very good, especially part 1. Part 2 would be boring if you not interested in Che. Reminder the only way practically to watch it is to download it which due to the low seeders usually for the movies it can take quite some time. But if you can find another way thats great.

Haven't seen part two yet. The first part was very good, gorgeously filmed. Del Toro was very engaging - before seeing it I would never have considered him right for the part. The whole thing was engrossing and seemed a labour of love for Steven Soderbergh.
Also, it appealed to friends of mine who have little knowledge of Guevara or the Cuban revolution, which I was surprised at. Which can only be a good thing.

They were good, but they could've made it more interesting by delving a bit deeper into the politics instead of showing still shots of landscapes so often.
The action scenes were beautiful as well and more of those should've been added, not to appease the "action" crowd, but to make it more fun to watch (which is necessary for such a long movie, in my opinion).

Great movies, and as everyone else says, especially the first one. They also show his epic capture and death very well.

Part 2 was as good as part 1 in my opinion, however your watching it knowing he's going to die at the end so it's a bit unsettling. Part one was fun to watch.
