I'm more concerned about AIDS, Malaria, Diarrhea etc, you know those diseases that have been killing millions of people for years.

Its best that swine flu spreads while its almost harmless. Immune systems exist for a reason, best the population has a resistence. At least then if it mutates into something nasty it will be far less deadly.

This containment policy of pumping people with anti viral drugs is just going to speed up the virus becomes resistence to the drugs.

I might have swine flu already!
Well, I only say that because I have a flu, but I'm in an area with a high concentration of cases, so who knows! Maybe this is it!

Not to sound as if I'm "anti-medication" or anything, because I'm not, but I think that our overuse of anti-biotics & anti-virals has been almost as negative as it has been positive.

I'm not blaming anyone really (although maybe I should, I don't know), but I've had drug resistant staph who knows how many times since I was 14.

Capitalism is thousands of times more dangerous than swine flu (and very contagious). I am more concerned about the symptoms of Capitalism than the symptoms of swine flu.

Once people relise that the better.

In Argentina they estimate that 50% of the population could be affected with swine flu this season, as opposed to 20% normally. Probably 98% of these won't even know they had it. However because of it's higher potential contagiousness, even though it is not more deadly than normal flu, it will cause a lot more deaths among the old, the elderly, small kids and pregnant women, because the health facilities are so neglected and not prepared for this kind of increase - there aren't the beds or the medicine in the public sector, and so the sectors who can't afford private treatment will be left to die.

This is a serious issue IMO.

Only worry about swine flu if you dine with pigs. So no, I do not worry about swine flu.

As a good friend of mine has come down with it, I'm mildly concerned, purely because I don't want the nuisance of having to stay in bed for a few days.

Would this thread not be more appropriate in chit chat?
