Anybody else think that it is sexist how whenever you go to a store the men's section is like a wall while the rest of the store is for women? I also think that it is also Corporations trying to make a profit off of women shopping more.

I dont think is "sexist", its just capitalism! What sells more gets more space, more designs etc etc.

That's not sexist, and the thing I hate most is the mall itself.

Yeah, and when all the baby stuff is made for smaller babies? What about the larger ones? Stop promoting an unhealthy image of how infants should look!

Not really, men and women wear different things either because of the general difference in body shape, or in most cases for fashion. It's not anymore sexist than seperate male and female bathrooms is, it's just convenient.

The concept of the mall was actually invented by Victor Gruen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Gruen), who apparently was a socialist, though I'm not sure if he stayed one when he invented it as an architect.

He had very utopian ideas about the mall, similar to ideas found in new urbanism, as a counter to the rise of cars and suburbia. But like how the airplane was predicted to end wars, he had unrealistic expectations and eventually rejected his own idea as he saw its development and its failure to change society in the way he envisioned.

I could be biased because I'm a female, but it could be simply because we tend to be more into buying clothes and like a greater variety of different designs, styles, etc. Not to mention this is what would make the Capitalists the most money too.

I don't think I understand manifesto at all. Not in this thread, I just mean in general.

Here, we mostly have either women's stores, men's stores, or mixed stores. I have not noticed so much of sexism except for clothes advertised with sexually attractive posters.

When I'm not working, I like to go to malls and walk around looking at all the stuff I can't afford to buy, pretending that I am upper-middleclass, which is my goal, after all!
When they tell you religion is the opiate of the masses... tell them to go to a fucking mall and look around
