I personally think that SOAD are very, very, very political, and yes, i am saying that i think after RATM split up, they are the musical voice of injustice, anyone agree..

Sure, but they also write non-political music, which is cool with me. I like both RATM and SOAD equally, really.

Yup same to me, but I also like the non serious side, which is a great relief after listening political songs.

I disagree. You cannot compare the literary craftmanship behind Zack's lyrics to those of Serj (sp?). SOAD is an amazing band, and I love how they're in partnership with Morello's Axis of Justice, however, I think Zack's lyrics are in a league of their own, so to say.
Zack has got to be the most clever and intelligent lyricist I've probably ever listened to.

BOTH of these bands are considered political, but, can 1 be more than the other? i personally dont think so. They are both great bands with a strong voice, although ratm is no longer with us, their spirit and music lives on!!!

SOAD, they should be called CHOAD.
Just kidding, I had to write that.
If you guys are into political music so much, why do none of you listen to punk ? Real punk, not radio punk is very political, and fast.
Dead Prez is amazing. I strongly suggest listening to some of their songs.

Whoa, where did that assumption come from?
Seriously, I try to listen to punk music but I'm not all that into it.
Moreover, if one is into political music doesn't 'necessarely' mean he has to listen to punk or any other music genre... just my opinion.
For me, it's not just the lyrics who matter, the music and beat also play a great part. The two must work together in order to produce a good musical piece. ;)

I understand that, it just seems like if people were into this political Nu-metal stuff then they would like punk too. The assumption that most people here don't listen to punk comes from the "favorite band" thread. I was really suprised to see that most people have such mainstream tastes. I'm not trying to say no one at all listens to punk.
Sorry, I'm an ass.
