Exactly what it says.If I spelt any of this wrong don't say anything,I'm tired and not focusing
Capitalism is the result of various historical occurrences, not any particular ideology. Just like leftwing revolutions don't happen because of communism as an ideology, but through class struggle. Ideas don't cause things to happen, people do.

I'd say individualism is the result of capitalism. There were/are pre-capitalist tribal groups that practice(d) a form of primitive communism/collectivism.

With the increasing division of labor and the development of markets and trading, it was no longer necessary to work directly in a collective manner. Now, people could work individually and were less reliant on others. When Capitalism became dominant, it only accelerated this tendency.

I think the modern incarnation of individualism and modernity its self are inexorably tied with the advent to Capitalism.
