From my time on RevLeft I cannot tell you how many threads I've seen labeled as such "This -ism vs. this -ism" or "I need to choose an -ism which one is for me?". The mentioned threads usually devolve into a debate over why Stalin was a bad leader. Now from what I've seen in these threads we are no better then the religious fanatics due to the fact we can't seem to have a thread on how to go about Communism without becoming drooling degenerates who forget how to type any other word besides Stalin. I've created this thread to ask other users why we usually end up debating in threads over why we should all turn to _____ism.
So please discuss.

See what I mean? Proves my point perfectly.
Immediately "Says a Marxist-Leninist."
I'm not saying Marxist-Leninism is the way to go I just agree with the ideas that go with it.

Don't forget about the sectarians who feel their way is the only way. I personally don't mind much that other people have different views. It's just different ways down the same path.

And it very well may be. What's your point?

I think his point is no one can declare which is the right and only way because we're not fortune tellers or clear voyants we're human beings.

Thats exactly what calling some a Marxist-Lenninist or any political ideology means, because they agree with most, or all, of the ideas that go with it.

I was thinking something along those lines, yes. There isn't really a "right" way. The right way is whatever each individual feels is the right way. For example I feel that Trotskyism is the most correct way while others feel Anarchism or Maoism is the correct way.

A good way to fight for an idea is to cause others to fight for it as well. While on a forum like this it is likely that a large portion of the discussions are just exercises for opposing sides. It allows both sides to learn about the other side and/or strengthen their own ideas.
As for why a thread often digresses, I would guess that it is due to poor forum manners by users who just can't let any statement go unchallenged. It is not wrong to challenge statements, but to essentially hijack a thread to argue a pet topic is.

I didn't create this thread to try and say that Marxist-Leninism is the way to go.
I don't press my views on others like you seem to be hinting at.
