It's obviously gonna be RATM! I hate Audioslave! Chris Cornell is a loser, who can't sing and wants to sing like Creed or something, and he doesn't sing about anything, and they aren't raging with madness like RATM.

RATM all the way.

Audioslave to hell.

RATM, no contest

I hear they are getting back together. Still, I wonder what audio slave could become if given time. RATM's best album is their first one. I think if Audioslave puts out any more, it will be their first that is one of their worst. Its still really good. On a RATM scale, I'd say its a BOLA.

RATM...

Rage without a doubt, still, you should listen or read audioslaves lyrics carefully..cochise is about alcoholism..something that affects me deep, and other lyrics, they aren´t without a meaning, you just have to listen, + that morello is the best guitarist in the whole world, so i wouldn´t let it cross my mind that they were crap..not to forget brad and tim are also very good musicans

ps. in the video, there were real fireworks..tom and brad specially had some marks after burn..;) so their hardcore man..

Rock1Renegade3
22nd April 2003, 20:37
I vote RATM...

P.S I totally agree with you angry about the Morello, tom and brad part, they are good musicans, that's what made Rage Against the Machine who they are, not to mention the lyrics also. THEY NEED TO GET BACK TOGETHER! :-D

Audioslave is incredible. Utterly incredible. However, I'm a sucker for Zack's political lyrics. So I'm going to go with RATM.

But just wait for Zack's solo album, it has Trent Fucking Reznor on it. Incredible.

How can you say chris cornell is a loser, he was in soundgarden for fucks sake, creed try to rip him off!!!

Rage are better, but Audioslave are also a good band, dont compare them!

Well, I'm going to vote RATM, but you're not giving audioslave enough credit.

I saw an Audioslave gig the other night. I was about 3 metres from the stage and it was AWESOME! They just rocked.

I also have a bit of a man crush on Chris Cornell...

i am changing my mind Tom and the guys are way better off without Zack, c'mon they were eventualy gonna break up and they are never gonna get back together. They have found thier match with Chris Cornellm, they are halfway finished writing thier second album something it took RATM for years to do.

HOW CAN YOU COMPARE RAGE TO AUDIOSLAVE. HELLO PEOPLE, THEY ARENT THE SAME. Chris Cornell didnt join to become RATM's new singer, he joined to start a new band. Its a shame they didnt mix RATM and soundgarden more, so all you yuppie rage fans wouldnt be whining about how cornell is not as good as Zack. ZACK DE LA ROCHA CANT SING. He raps. He doesnt sing. I have no problem with this, but dont go dissing Cornell. Soundgarden was one of the most innovative bands of the early 90's. Audioslave is a great band, with varied styles. goddamnit, why should a band not be as good because it isnt political enough? So Nirvana is a shitty band because Kurt didnt wear a che shirt???

I think it is obvious that on a political forum Rage is going to win, so there wasn't really much point in this thread. However, I think Audioslave are an amazing band as well. I think Cornell is and was a great singer with Audioslave and Soundgarden and Zack de la Rocha's rap went well with Rage's style. I think i prefere Audioslaves music but their songs aren't as deep as Rage's

WUOrevolt

Ratm for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Silent Eye
18th June 2003, 01:23
Audioslave's songs aren't as deep as Rage's? Chris Cornel sucks? Lets compare RATM to Soundgarden, the more appropriate comparison. Lets see lyrics from both Cornell and RATM:

For RATM we have Killing in the Name Of(a song i really like, by the way)

Killing in the name of
Some of those that were forces are the same that burn crosses (4X)
Huh!

Killing in the name of (2x)

And now you do what they told ya (11 times)
But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites (2X)

And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control (7 times)

Now, lets take a look at Burden in My hand by Cornell.

Follow me into the desert

As thirsty as you are

Crack a smile and cut your mouth

And drown in acohol

Couse down below the truth is lying

Beneath the riverbed

So quench yourself and drink the water

That flows below her head

Oh no there she goes

Out in the sunshine the sun is mine

I shot my love today would cry for me

I lost my head again would you lie for me

I left her in the sand just a burden in my hand

I lost my head again would you cry for me

Close your eyes and bow your head

I need a litle simpathy

Cause fear is strong and love's for everyone

Who isn't me

So kil your health and kill yourself

And kill everything you love

And if you live you can fall to pieces

And suffer with my ghost

Just a burden in my hand

Just an anchor on my heart

Just a tumor in my head

And I'm in the dark

And, while i'm at it, might i add some Audioslave lyrics.
This is track 14, Last Remaining Light:
Roll me on your frozen fields
Break my bones to watch them heal
Drown me in your thirsty veins
Where I'll watch and I'll wait
And pray for the rain

Curl like smoke and breathe again
Down your throat, inside your ribs
Through your spine and every nerve
Where I'll watch and I wait
And yield to the hurt

And if you don’t believe
The sun will rise
Stand alone and greet
The coming night
In the last remaining light

Seven moons and seven suns
Heaven wait for those who run
Down your winter and underneath your waves
Where you watch and you wait
And pray for the day

NOT DEEP ENOUGH FOR YOU???

Is "fuck you i wont do what you tell me" somehow deeper??

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me(16X)
MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

truthaddict11
20th June 2003, 13:56
yes the lyrical "deepness" vary I dont know about Rage's deepness yeah there songs all had a good political message but saying "Fuck You I wont do what you tell me" gets old fast, as much as I love Rage I got to say that.

Soundgarden and Audioslave's songs just flow better than RATM's.
Silent Eye, is Chris Cornells solo album worth getting? I heard its really mellow and someone told me depressing.

Silent Eye

I unfortunatly cannot say. Euphoria Morning is an album I only recently discovered and havent heard anything from it. I am not sure if its worth it but i will surely be taking a look at it in the near future.

RATM is clearly better.

Silent Eye
23rd June 2003, 00:31
To reply on Euphoria Morning, although i havent heard the whole album yet, you are correct. The album is surpisingly good in my opinion, specifically the song "Moonchild." Although it doesnt sound "Grungy" (if such a sound exists, as the term grunge defines such a wide variety of musical styles, from Mudhoney to Pearl Jam) his voice is incredible. I didnt expect much from his solo album, but i am impressed.

If we're going in on the deepness discussion let's bring in a band that beats both RAGE and Audioslave! SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!!

Conversion, software version 7.0,
Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub,
Eating seeds as a past time activity,
The toxicity of our city, of our city,

New, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder, disorder,
Now, somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder.

More wood for their fires, loud neighbors,
Flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck,
Eating seeds as a past time activity,
The toxicity of our city, of our city,

New, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder, disorder,
Now, somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder.

New, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder, disorder,
Now, somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder.

When I became the sun,
I shone life into the man's hearts,
When I became the sun,
I shone life into the man's hearts.

And then there's some good political lyrics to!

Elimination, Elimination, Elimination

Die, Why, Walk Down, Walk Down

A whole race Genocide,
Taken away all of our pride,
A whole race Genocide,
Taken away, watch them all fall down.

Revolution, the only solution,
The armed response of an entire nation,
Revolution, the only solution,
We've taken all your shit, now it's time for restitution.

Recognition, Restoration, Reparation,
Recognition, Restoration, Reparation,
Watch them all fall down.

Revolution, the only solution,
The armed response of an entire nation,
Revolution, the only solution,
We've taken all your shit, now it's time for restitution.

The plan was mastered and called Genocide (Never want to see you around)
Took all the children and then we died, (Never want to see you around)
The few that remained were never found, (Never want to see you around)
All in a system of Down......Down.....Down.......Down........Walk Down...........

And SYSTEMS singer is the best vocalist of all time!!!!

I agree, System of a Down is great band and Serg (spelling?) is an awesome singer, but this discussion is between Zack de La Rocha and Chris Cornell fans.

Anyways this is between RAtM & Audioslave. HELLLOOO! RAtM no contest! In fact I didn't even know that the boys from RAtM were in it until recently. I always wondered why they sounded alike. Chris Cornell sucks :P . I love Zack  !

I like Soundgarden, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, and March of Death. But my favorite would be RATM. But wouldn't it be great if those bands all still existed? I know they'd be running their asses off, but good lord...
Anyways, I kind of see Audioslave as like Black Sabbath after Ozzy left. Not bad, Dio is kind of weird, but still, good stuff. :D

I have to ask....how do you figure Chis Cornell wants to sing like "Creed" ?
First off, Chris Cornell probably has one of the best voices in the "Rock industry" second....Creed is the one that ripped off STP & Pearl Jam etc... And cornell has been around a lot longer then Creed has!

Also, Rage is good & Audioslave is good
which is better? Well that depends on the person....

why not argue which color is better .....Blue or Red?
