A Chemist

Hello everyone. I'm a 26 year old post-grad chemistry student from Italy.
I don't stick to any major leftist label. Ask me now, I'd tell you Trotskyism is my favourite flavour, but my answer might be different if you were to ask again next week.
I share the average left wing thought when it comes to economical matters, but I have ideas of my own on subjects like civil rights, human rights, animal rights and the likes.
Also, I'm agnostic, a die-hard environmentalist, and I sympathize for the transhumanist cause.
How did I become a leftist? Well, a communist friend basically talked me into it (hint: logic can be more persuasive than a crowbar). Then I bought Marx's Capital (which, I admit, I still haven't finished), and that was it.
As a last note: I don't believe communism to be "the" answer to the world's problems. I believe it's a step in the ideologically correct direction, but it is my opinion that it still needs to be worked on and adapted, so as to avoid major fuck-ups like the so-called "People's Republics" of the 20th century.
I might not be very active on this forum, as I have to dedicate most of the time to my studies, and what little spare time I have is usually claimed by my girlfriend :) but I'll try to stop by regularly.
