Political Suicide
26th March 2003, 05:08
I've never really listened to Radio Head. I've heard it in friend's cars and houses but i've never really listened to the lyrics. Are they very political?
I heard that their new album was going to be entitled:
"Hail to the Thief"

Not particularly, they're still a good band though, and they do deal with some important issues in some of their songs, not so much political issues, more personal stuff like depression, self-hate ect, a good example would be Creep. Actualy, some of their songs could have political meaning, as alot of their stuff is very abstract and open to interpritation.
They try alot of different stuff, so with an album called Hail To The Thief, maybe they're planning to do some political stuff, you never really know with Radiohead, they're probably the least predictable band around right now.

I think I am the only person here who doesn't like Radiohead, actually. I think they are neo-nazis who should be ignored.

Radiohead are probably my favorite band.
They've got a few songs which you might interpret as political, try finding "Optimistic".

I just think they are hella cool. Its possible to be cool without being political. How popular are they in America?

Thom Yorke speaks out against Bush at concerts, and yes, they are good. Very good chill-out music. No one else here my age likes them that much.

GR got me into Radiohead, they're awesome. My old English teacher used to be in one seminar with Thom Yorke when she was at Uni, which is pretty cool.
I'm really looking forward to hearing the new album, can't wait!

It has been leaked already, and yes it is quite political this time. My friend/band's piano player and backing vocals is the biggest fan ever. He has the first 8 tracks from the album in the unmixed for, but still good. I will be borrowing it off him when we both get back after Easter.
