Man charged after BNP victory party

A MAN has been charged with racially aggravated harassment following a BNP victory party.

Michael Heaton, 41, of Mersey Street, Leigh, was arrested after the rally in Blackpool.

Michael Hayes, 22, of Henderson Road, Widnes, Liam Pinkham, 21, of Leeswood Road, Wirral, and a boy of 16 who cannot be named for legal reasons, were also charged with the same offence.

Mr Pinkham was due to appear before magistrates in Blackpool on Monday. The others have been released on bail until next month.

Up to 80 protesters gathered outside the New Kimberley Hotel during the BNP rally on Saturday. A police spokeswoman described it as a 'largely peaceful' demonstration.

This plus the NF counter demo in Newcastle certainly suggests that as the BNP get attention the fringe nutters get more active, although they dont seem to be getting any stronger, it will be interesting to see the NF march on rememberance day and see if they have got any more than last year.
