View Full Version : Nurse's Union strike

Im not sure when this started, but it was at least a couple of months ago. The local Nurse's Union (not sure of the name), headed by Debbie Forward decided, "Oh, we don't get paid enough to do nothing". So they started b****ing to the provincial government about their wages. Then they went on strike. At least 1 person died, and rumour was that there was several other cases of this. Honestly, I hope that Debbie Forward dies. She caused the death of an innocent person to what effect? Making the working-class struggle look like a joke? I think that she went way to far. The government eventually settled the strike, giving them less then what they wanted, but they almost gave them more, because the whores had them by the balls that hard. You don't understand what Danny Williams (our premier) is like. People think hes Jesus. He is the best thing to happen to this province, and they make him look bad. Alot of people are one way or the other about this, or sitting on the fence. But I know where I stand. What do you guys think?

Firstly I think that you are recieving a verbal warning for that shit about the Nurses being "whores". I also think that you are an ignorant dick given that nursing is a consistently undervalued and underpaid profession and that the death was more than likely the result of fuckwit strikebreakers.

Are you sure you're actually on the left wing?

do the rational thing - blame management and the bosses, who fuck hospital staff over, causing situations where workers take the natural action to defend themselves - strike action

In the first place, not all nurses are women. Your generalization of a profession is telling that a) you have never been in a hospital, and b) you are not aware of your sexist claims.

In the second place, it is entirely unacceptable to blame workers for demanding higher pay. Workers are consistently and systematically exploited - to blame them for attempting to equalize (though impossible) this exploitation is remarkable.

In the third place, you cannot reasonably conclude that someone dying in a hospital (where millions of people die every year, thousands every day) is the fault of nurses.

I hope you take all this into account.

I don't think you can pay those tireless men and women enough. In most countries they work very long hours doing difficult, thankless tasks and are as essential as doctors. Most of us wouldn't be here without them.

It's also a profession that in many areas of the world is the only way for a working class person to better their lives.

you've already been given a warning by another mod for your sexism and insults to women, so think carefully on that.

I think that posting this in the workers struggles forum is obvious trolling, so I'm locking this. Also changing the shite title.

I hope you won't mind if I bump this up to an infraction because of the anti-worker sentiment and the sheer virulence of the sexism - not only calling the nurses "whores", but also assuming that all of them were women.

I think an infraction is more than fair.

If he posts anything as remotely prejudicial and reactionary again I will campaign for his removal from this forum.
