The factional struggle between the two sides of the cleric bourgeoisie the liberal and the conservative continues apace. What side should the workers of Iran take if any?

It is true to say that the workers of Iran have overwhelmingly stayed on the sidelines of the conflict and have not entered the political arena. There are tiny exceptions like the bus workers who struck for 30 mins 3 days ago. We have also seen statements released expresing disaprovement of the crackdown of one side of the bourgeois against the other and also expressing no political support for either faction of the bourgeois. This is good but the working class still has not moved into the political arena in a MASS way why?

Simply because the workers of Iran have no interest in backing any faction of the bourgeois and who can blame them since both factions do not represent their interests Both are neo liberal to some extent of the other and are repressive of trade union and working class interests in general so it should be no surprise that they have no moved in a MASS WAY. Correct me if i am wrong but there have been no other strikes apart from the 30 minute strike 3 days ago and there have been no strikes from the heavy duty boys like the Oil workers.

The Marxists and the communists of Iran have no interest in backing either faction of this power struggle and instead must focus on agitating amongst the industrial working class, the peasentry, the poor in general to encourage to take advantage of the situation and mobilise to defend their interests and strike while they can. These are the real heroes of Iran not the moussavists

But even more important is the action taken by workers at the massive Khodro car factory. The workers at this car company, the largest in the Middle East with nearly 100,000 workers, 30,000 of them in one single plant, have already taken strike action on Thur, 18, in support of the revolutionary movement of the people. In a short statement that we reproduce in full they say:

..

“We declare our solidarity with the movement of the people of Iran.

“Autoworker, Fellow Laborers (Laborer Friends): What we witness today, is an insult to the intelligence of the people, and disregard for their votes, the trampling of the principles of the Constitution by the government. It is our duty to join this people's movement.

“We the workers of Iran Khodro, Thursday 28/3/88 in each working shift will stop working for half an hour to protest the suppression of students, workers, women, and the Constitution and declare our solidarity with the movement of the people of Iran. The morning and afternoon shifts from 10 to 10:30. The night shift from 3 to 3:30.

There are some 'heavy duty boys'. Who knows why the others are not out yet? Maybe its to do with the fact that the state media keeps referring to the protestors as 'foreign agents', or maybe its something to do with the fact trade unionists are regularly kileld or imprisoned for challenging the regime in Iran?

Its a start haywood i grant you but a long way from mass action by the working class. We need the heavy duty boys to come into the political arena to struggle for THEIR INTERESTS not the clerical factions interests

No one is denying that. You seem to be acting as if we are. Its what we all want, and recognise could happen.
