Tonight on More 4 on UK television is Strike Night, a bunuch of programmes about the Miners Strike in 1984, looks quite good. Begins at 9pm.

Move this if theres a better forum for it.

Yep its quite a good saturday night for people of the left. Also at 7:30pm on BBC, there is a documetory called 'Chinas Capitalist Revolution' which is all about how Xiopings 'opening up' has shaped todays china. May be interesting though, as on the description, it states that it has some 'upsetting scenes'. This for me may imply that it will show the negative aspect of chinas totally unfetered 'free-market', who knows?

Forget it, i have just seen the opening sequence of it....and its the most reactionary anti-communist, 'capitalism has made china a good place to live' bullshit ever.

Done, also added a bit about More 4+1 (not sure that that exists, though).

Wouldnt bother with this so far, its just a program that has been produced so policeman from that era can have a wank in memory of a time that they got their way in a way that hopefully will never be repeated (because if it is we are talking fascist dictatorship). Mind you its only 30mins gone so there is still hope for a turn around.
