Rage
Mr. Lif
Michael Franti & Spearhead
Gill Scott Heron
and even Tupac, believe it or not.

Godspeed you Black Emperor is an instrumental band but are very politically minded. Surprisingly so was Beethoven.

Rage has the most, almost every song is political. The only non-political songs are on the Renegades album.

I'd say Dead Prez, Burning Spear is sort of Political as well....
I've never really listened to much rage (infact, I don't own anything that isn't Jazz/Rap/R&B) but what I've heard other people playing puts them out as prettty political. Oh, on that note Blackfire is pretty political.

THE POLICE! The Sex Pistols, Anti-Flag, many other punk bands... =)

Rage, although i don't particularly like their style of music, are very very political. As are Anti-Flag. Dead Kennedys havent been listed, but they are very political as well. There are tons and tons of political bands - it would be very hard to pick a few to be the "most" political.

Yes, I do recall "Anarchy for Sale" =) I have a few friends that went to the Dead Kennedys show last night. I haven't had the chance to speak to them yet. I presume they are asleep.

Los De Abajo, del DF en México is a decent runner up, although they can't claim that each and every one of their songs is political. *However, every single one of their songs on their first album had socio-economic overtones, if they were not directly political. *One of the seemingly least political songs, Acerina, sings about a woman not paying attention to a man's advances. *But if you know anything about Mexican society, you'd understand that it's because she's a brown-haired woman, most likely heavily descended from the conquistadores, and will not pay attention to the narrator because of his indigenous heritage. *

The "Dead Kennedys" touring are shit, East Bay Ray is a supporter of Bush's War and calls Jello Biafra a "terrorist for not supporting bush or the war. this comming from the man who used to play "stars and stripes of corruption" also their "singer" Brandon Cruz has dedicated "holiday in cambodia" to the troops in afghanistan at shows

Definatly 'Manic street preachers' for political songs. Both 'A design for life' and 'if you tolerate this, then your choldren will be next' are the most political but theirs also 'ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayitsworldwouldf allapart' which is a good song. I personaly prefer the first album 'Generation Terrorists' because its the kind of music id usually listen to (punk rock), with brilliant tracks like 'Natwest-Barclays-Midlands-Lloyds' and the brilliant 'You Love Us' on it.

Yay Wolfie! The Manic Street Preachers are the best political band ever! Name me one other band that has written a song about the Spanish civil war and got it to number one. You cant!

Songs like 'Freedom of speech wont feed my children' on the 'Know Your Enemy' album just show how political they are.

Dont forget the Cuba gig where Fidel Castro was guest of honour! No other 'political' band even comes close to the might of the Manics!
