My list is too long to remember but I can safely say that I have hated every live band I have ever seen in concert except for Metallica and Boston and even they sucked live. Metallica would have been great but they played no old stuff at all. It was just a big light/explosives show.

I've seen wayyyy too many shows to list every single band. 90% of all the shows i go to are smaller punk bands that most people have never heard of. The best smaller punk band i've ever seen was Hudson Falcons, last year. They were fucking great. The best, larger punk band, i've seen is probably the casualties because george got down off the stage and was in the pit and the whole fuckin' deal. But Rancid was pretty good too. Combat Junkies make the top 5 as well. Most shows i go to are great. I've only had a few "bad shows". Marley Fest two years ago was terrible. They had technical problems throughout the whole 10 hour period - while it was pouring. So, it was a bunch of stoned people standing out in the rain for 10 hours listening to static - a disaster.

I've hardly seen anyone live. But I've seen RHCP live, and also some crap band like Limp Bizkit played as support band. Can't remember thier name.
I've seen too many bands and artists performances to remember right now, I've attended many tours including Woodstock '99. The "bestest" show? I must give Wyclef Jean at Woodstock was pretty damn good, not to mention Kid Rock's performance at Woodstock and not to mention Roots free show at Webster's Hall for the movie Brooklyn Babylon that featured Mos Def and Erykah Badu singing and freestyling.

When I was about 14 BB King came to NZ with U2. Being young and poor me and some friends decided to jump the fence. All the other people chickened out except me and another guy. So we went over the 10 foot fence, barbed wire and all. It was the best concert I've ever been to.
Other goodies.
Suicidal Tendencies - I managed to stage dive.
Midnight Oil and Yothu Yindi at a big festival. Chilled out.
Midnight oil in London, high on ecstacy, freaked out - paranoid. Thank god for the hard house tent :)

Green Day are gods live.
Green Day Rock. I can play over 15 of their songs!
I seen Rammstein and Ten Benson and lots of other smaller bands. I don't tend to go for big gigs.

Seeing live music is one of my favorite things to do. I've seen hundreds of bands total, but my favorites are the smaller jazz-improvisasional, funky jam bands. Of course, I've had my share of great large scale bands as well. Here are some of the best large and small shows I've been to:
The Rolling Stones
Jimmy Page & Robert Plant
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Bob Dylan
The Allman Brothers Band
Phil Lesh
Phish
Medeski Martin and Wood
Jacob Fred Jazz Odessey
John Scofield
Soulive
The Wailers
Addison Groove Project
El-P, Aesop Rock, & Mr. Lif
If I were to make a decision of who I think puts on the most overwhelmingly enjoyable show I would have to say Phish, whithout a doubt. I can not describe the vibe one can tap into if they only allow it.

LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad in Kuala Lumpur, December '02. Bukem was the bomb, and watching Mike flapping good style on stage was an absolute riot.
It's always great to watch experienced DJ's, and Bukem basically breezed through his set, which featured a lot of new tracks, and surprisingly, lots of up-tempo jungle beats, too. I even managed to corner him after the show, and had a chat and shook hands with him. Nice, humble guy he was.
Paul Oakenfold's due in KL next month, and according to the rumours, so is Pete Tong! About fucking time. :)

on a side note for those of you who dont like the outlandish price of concert tickets i know how to get into concerts for free and get paid for it. as well as have carte blanche and the ability to confiscate drugs for yourself. ask the ticket office about an hour or two before before the show starts where the security entrance is. go there and ask the clerk for an application (concerts are almost always understaffed). Theyll give you a security shirt put you wherever they need you and then usually leave you alone. from here you can watch the show charge people a small fee for access to the pit or ditch the shirt and enjoy the show from the pit. if your lucky enough to get a manager shirt (not an indication of rank they are first come first serve really) you can chill backstage. the security company will mail you a check within a week no matter what you do because theres no way for them to see who actually worked and who didnt. just make sure you return the shirt or you wont get paid. also it would help to wear black dress pants (not jeans) and black shoes (not boots). give it a try sometime. i swear this works cause ive been doing it for like two years and ive never gotten caught.

Dirty Jersey, i've heard that before. I tried it at warped - twice. You have to be 21 first of all. Something i'm not. So, not really anyone can do this. They obviously don't have the time to do a background check or anything, so you don't have to worry about that. Seeing as i've never actually been able to do this, i can't really say more. I'm gonna find out about it though.
