Just saw a segment on The One Show (yes i know its shit) about the growth of CCTV and survalience culture. When the segment ended the host (cant remember his name, your man off Match of the Day) turned to the guest and said "Well i guess we should start into a debate about the growth of Orwellian security technology......but instead we've got from youtube of a bull running through a supermarket" *Cut to that clip of the bull running round a supermarket somewhere in Co.Mayo*

Completely sickened me. Dont know if this was the BBC backing down from actually starting some kind of discussion about our security culture or just an example of the complete dumbing down of television, probably a bit of both.

You think that's terrible, try watching This Week - a political discussion programme hosted by a homely Scottish grandad figure. The standard of debate on that show's lower than a potential situation where all of stormfront were on Jeremy Kyle.


Awwww but could you imagine how funny that'd be? You'd have two brother's fighting for paternity of their 11-y-o sister's toddler!
