I love loads of different types of music from many bands, and i hear a lot of reference to RATM, are they any good?

If so what songs/albums are the best?

their self-titled one is the shit, absolutely fucking awesome. i'm not good with my generes but it's kinda a blend of rock with hip-hop that actually works and they are all incredibly musicians.

I like all of them. Even though the battle of LA has alot of SHIT on it. The original was the best. Check out Bullet in the Head, Know your enemy, and Take the POwer Back... freedom, and township rebellion and bombtrack. Damn all of it!

Rage ROCKS!! It really is too bad that they broke up, and I just don't think they can keep their message without Zach. We will just have to see if Audioslave can offer any political messages. Tom Morello may be able to maintain but we will surely miss Zach de la Rocha!

RATM kicks ass. that's all I can say. DO CHECK THEM OUT, although Audioslave sucks. Tom Morrello is still a good guitarist!

I like Audioslave better than Rage Against The Machine.

I think 'Getaway Car' is one of my favorite songs from the past few years.

Rage against the machine is such a fucking good band and Tom Morrello is a musical genius. From wut i know they have never used a synthizer or anything like that in there cds. All of the noises is from toms guitar.
Tom also has another political site called the axis of justice at http://live.axisofjustice.sparkart.net/

I don't like Audioslave. I just miss the political lyrics...

Audioslave has two good songs, We Got A Better Bomb and I Am The Highway. IF the ever release another album i recommend calling it, "Even More Songs About Fucking" RAtM on the other hand was the major SHIT. They kicked all kinds of ass. One of the best bands in the past 2 decades. Check out Know Your Enemy, Sleep Now in the Fire, Freedom, Fist Full of Steel, and Vietnow.

Their Self titled is REALLY REALLY good. I like Evil Empire a lot too...shit I like them all. So, check them all out. If you like music with substance you will definitely like them. Too bad they broke up.....argh....I hate thinking about that:(

The first album is one of my all-time favorites. Really brings back memories to listen to "Killing in the Name of" and all those other fantastic songs. I think they really perfected the sound there and even if they wrote great songs for other albums they never sounded quite so intense.

Someone told me they switched bass players after the first album, so maybe that's why.

In any case, I think the political lyrics are an integral part of their style, so I don't really listen to Audioslave. I do listen to Zack's solo stuff though, and some of it really kicks ass. Check out "CIA- Criminals In Action" which he did with KRS One and Last Emperor. He also appears on "Mumia 911" I think. There are several version of it.

He has a LOT of potential as a rapper, I can't wait to hear more of it.

Evil Empire is their best.

Evil empire is the shit! my preference is in this order:

1. Self titled
2. renegades
3. LA
4. Nothing
5. Evil empire

but seriously, the only half decent song [in comparison to the rest]is the opening track, and that's pretty crap. I cannot stand Vietnow. die die die

Vietnow is a great song.

RATM is gospel.

Not only are the lyrics inspirational, the sounds are too. Nothing like a Rage bridge accentuated with Zak screamin "Huh! Come On! Yeah!"

AudioSlave is pretty good. The politics are more hidden, but still there. I mean cochise, gasoline, hypnotize, set it off, all major social messages. Only problem some people have is the hybrid mixing of RATM and Soundgarden politics. While RATM has a left wing, revolutionary agenda, Soundgarden uses a lot of religious elements. So, it is easy to see how the two might clash. I don't mind, though.

1 Evil Empire
2 Self Titled
3 Battle of LA

Except for the song: "renegades" that cover album pretty much licks a penis.
