Are these great bands socialists? You refer to them a lot, so I thought they might be. Could you once more list any more socialist bands?

I don't believe they're socialist ,they talk more of satan than marx. But the reason we talk about them so much is because they think for themselves and have real talent. Here's a good page about socialist bands from around the globe if you're interested.

It's working on the translations but It's not ready yet.

And for those thibking APC is socialist here's a piece from an interview:

"A Perfect Circle is not a side project. A Perfect Circle is not a hobby for any of those involved. A Perfect Circle does not represent the end of anything. A Perfect Circle does not represent the beginning of anything. A Perfect Circle is not a religion. A Perfect Circle is not a political ..."

Opiate= "Opium for the masses". The lyrics are about religion so probably.

I think that it's not Tool that are socialist, but vocals himself, Maynard James Keenan, he DID do a song with RATM ( Know your enemy,Self-titled album). ::shrugs::
that may be just me.

Maynard James Keenan also did "You can't kill a revolution" with rage. In my opinion they are socialists wheter they come out and talk about it. Just what i have gathered from lyrics and such

I don't really think Tool is a satanist band. I would say they most definitely lean more toward the socialist view.

I saw them live at the end of the summer after 9/11. During the show, there was some assholes in the back chanting "USA...USA". At the end of the show, Maynard came to the front of the stage and said.."I realize that there is a lot of emotion out there right now....please just try to do something positive with it"

This is pretty representative of Tool's music and their message of thinking for yourself.

Of course my nick is a Tool song, so I may be a bit biased.

They also did another song with RATM called "Revolution" which was supposed to appear on the "Judgement Night" Soundtrack.

Love that "song".

It wouldn't have the same effect in any other language other than German. Sounds like a Hitler speech until you read the lyrics
