I love the Pinky Show, particularly the episode about the World's Fair and American imperialism. This episode was excellent. I was aware of Hawai'i being an occupied nation of course, as well as its initial role as a place to project American power into Asia, but they tied everything together in this episode and show how central Hawai'i is to American imperialism.

A few things that bugged me about this clip:
1. They cynically classify the second world war as an inter-imperialist struggle, despite popular partisan struggles and liberation movements in Albania, China, Korea, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, most of eastern europe, not to mention the heroic anti-fascist war in the USSR.
Despite the tremendous (but costly) gains for the working class, this post-modernist program classifies the second world war in terms of Imperialist vs Imperialist without context.
2. The call to "act as your conscience guides you" in conclusion, without elaboration or anything resembling structural organizing towards attainable objectives, reduces what could have been an informative call to action to idle chit chat with out follow up.
All together though, I did find it informative on many specifics of the Hawai'i issue (although the same case can be made for most other states, even in the continental US).
