This is literally my new favorite site, I mentioned this over at the literature boards, but it didn't really get any attention.

It's like a virtual library, the site "limits" you to three downloads per week, finally was able to read David Harvey. I recommend "A Brief History of Neoliberalism" it's up there now.

I downloaded the Open Veins of Latin America, and it came in some weird LRF file that my computer didn't know what to do with. I googled a program to convert it to a PDF, but apparently the LRF file contains no text, so there's nothing to convert.

According to this website (http://www.msh-tools.com/ebook/lrfformat.html): The LRF format is a proprietary format by Sony used in their e-readers.The format is still undocumented.

Stay away from it.

As for BOZG: down kpdf (kde3), okular (kde4) or many of the other free pdf readers for linux.

Well that's interesting... why would they upload an e-book that no one can use?

Go back to the site, the site owner uploaded a mirror and I was able to get it.

It's a really good, flowing read

BTW I bought a used Sony ebook reader, if anyone has 150 dollars I would recommend it. A bit pricey, but im saving money on build books and reading more.

Everything on the site does seem to be in .PDF except for a few that are in .dvju that you need a plugin or separate program to use (rarer format, but imo better than pdf)

Okular is installed by default on Kubuntu but that's not the problem. My iPod uses .epub for E-Books, so I'd have to convert them first which I've discovered is somewhat tedious.

Hmm, tried the wonders of Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ei=RL8xSrKCGsq4-QbxhsS5CQ&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=epub+pdf+conversion&spell=1) on this one already?

"discovered is somewhat tedious" would suggest I have looked into it. Free converters are limited. They don't allow manual changes or anything. It can be done but isn't just as simple as a straight convert.
