Why not? Prostitution is quite legal in India. Regardless, I hardly think they deserve to be ill treated based on the fact that "they shouldn't be prostitutes". It's good that they can defend themselves against scum.

He probably means nobody should have to resort to prostitution because of a stupid economic system. There's a wide range of how people end up being prostitutes.

1) If someone likes and enjoys being a prostitute, then more power to them.

2) If someone is a prostitute because they have no other way to make a living, then the economic system must be overthrown.

3) If someone enjoys being a prostitute, but only because the economic system first forced them into it, and they only found rationalizations for it later on, then the economic system must be overthrown.
