Music has a different meaning to different people. If I fall short in my participation in the discussions of various music and bands its only because i haven't been exposed to it. So be it.
Rage Against the Machine is my favorite band yet they are not the first in their summons for fans to take action.
One man I have a great deal of respect for is Ronnie James Dio of the band DIO. The man is an opera singer who decided to use heavy metal as a vehicle to make his stand.
If anyone is interested in supporting an organization that is free of government controls, check out Children of the Night, a rescue mission for teenage runaways.
As far as I know, his rescue mission operates soley in the United States.
Check out the website. Volunteer opportunities can be done right on the internet.
One thing to mention and I don't know if it is obvious from the website, the organization also has a volunteer legal group (awesome!) and they work with local police protecting children from prostitution.
His wife Wendy Dio runs the entire program. (what a lucky woman.)
