yes i saw it. i liked the footage. the re-enactments were not too bad either.
and about Kronstadt, i dont know much about the revolution but the film seemed to be pro-kronstadt, and pretty anti-bolshevik. id probably have to watch it again though, but thats what i took from it.

Saw the first part a few times but it never really stood out as anything but another bog-standard TV documentary. Perhaps I've been spoiled by actual history books but this struck me as very simplistic and, most damningly, not very well done. Some of the reenactment were both poor and unnecessary

There was a noticeable anti-bolshevik sentiment throughout the series, but I like how it supported the people of Russia in their struggle to overthrow powerful regimes. It portrayed the Kronstadt rebellion as a sort of continuation of the revolution in october 1917, which may or may not be correct depending on your viewpoint. I thought at times it was a bit biased, but I enjoyed seeing the re-enactments and the colorized footage, which I think they did a good job on.
One of my favorite parts is when Larissa, the wife of Rascolnikov (I don't know how their names were spelled) who was formerly a poet of the people, scratches out the Tsarina's name and replaces it with her own on the mirror that used to belong to the royal family. Perfect example of the corruption of power in my opinion.
