ME! :D

My intro to Sociology class in college is part of what brought me here. I'm a Sociology major and I quite enjoy it.

Alright. College students. LOL I was scared since they conducted a poll and most people on this site were in High School.

What are your emphasis? I sadly didn't know about getting an emphasis but I would've focused on Latin America if I could do it all over again.

Is Sociology really that useful of a major? I mean don't get me wrong it's interesting, but what career options are there, other than teaching?

Social sciences major here, concentrating in sociology. I had the option to major in sociology, but I opted for social sciences because it also included anthropology and geography. A broader approach.

Sociology can lead to many careers actually. One of the main ones is simply being a sociologist (researching and writing), then there is journalism, social worker and all that good stuff. It's a theoretical major that is chock full of Marx, Weber, and Durkheim

I'm a Sociology student. I don't mind it, although we do alot of feminism. Not that I'm against it at all, it's just that I get bored of doing the same thing over and over and being told that men are the sole reason for wrongs in the world :(

MR, that's not feminism as far as I've ever seen it.

Latin American Studies here, mostly focusing on anthro but do a lot of soc anyway.

I do it at A level, considered it at Uni but I dunno how useful or interesting it'd be.

You're right mate, it usually isn't like that. It's down to my female classmates though. I'm probably being harsh on them, but they're is always critical of men. It's a shame really.
