I saw a friends blog
that asked that question, why do some american citizens hate their government, stating that the people in charge give up their personal lives to run the counrty and make living better for us.
and saying that if there wasnt a gov other countries try to take advantage of us.

The American government does nothing but lie to the public and continuously screws up our economy.

There are plenty of reasons to complain about the U.S. government.
One of the better ones is that it's a state, and in capitalism, the state serves the bourgeoisie.
So, uh, I don't see what's wrong with complaining about it. The US government is shit.

Hahaha, that's on of the best jokes I heard for ages!
Just take Mr Bush: giving up his personal life? No, didn't seem that way to me, to be exactly, I rather had the impression that personal relationships and aims dominated his policies.
Making live better for us... did your friend live in a parallel universe during, well, let's say the last 100 years? Seriously, this is just plain absurd.

Well, I guess this is for the Anarchists...
But seriously, either your friend is damn cynical or damn naive. No matter how often the constituation is quoted and what nice fairy tales are told to the people, politicians are usually out for money and power and not sacrificing their private life for the sake of humanity and taking the terrible burden of becoming president. Obama and others may say that, but come on, he and other presidents don't seem to suffer very much, they rather seem to have a great time and to try everything to stay in power.
And besides, it's never good to be totally uncritical of your government, this "Who am I to talk about politic? I'm sure they will do their best for us, long live the president!"-attitude is stupid. Just take the 3rd Reich, just becuase they Fuehrer seems to be great, this doesn't mean he's great.

i honestly don't dislike our government, i don't believe our government is constantly lieing, i dont believe that they "serve the burgoisie" ( i think some of us just like throwing those terms around ) and the government does not run the media.
now do I support war? no. do i believe the country would be much better off in a communist system? of course. could we be worse off? of course.

The entire basis of the state is to serve the interests of the bourgeoisie, did you come to Leftism after reading a Wikipedia page and leaving it at that?
