I read this article about national anarchism.
Now I wonder, what's an anarcho-steampunk?

If I had to guess I would say an anarchist that wants to revert back to 18th-19th century technology, or an anarchist who enjoys dressing and acting like a Victorian intellectual in some way. (I do know that "steampunk" as a literary genre refers to Victorian-era historical fiction with science fiction elements, like the television series Wild Wild West or the comic book League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. How you could make a coherent political platform out of that is beyond me) Thankfully I have yet to encounter one of these people so I can't answer definitively. I do know that many parts of the west coast anarchist scene is infested with entryist Nazis, child molestation advocates, and a myriad of bizarre, ineffectual hippies. Admittedly, the author of the SPLC report was probably interested in making anarchists in general appear as silly and unthreatening as possible.

like agrippa (^) suggests steam punks are people freaky about turn of the century mechanics. a bunch of mates of mine are into this stuff, building flametrowers and sculpteres with big fly wheels etc its an cool form of contempary art (form more see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk).
although most of the steampunks i know are also anarchist at the same time i yet have to meet one to conect his/her art/astetics with a deeper political meaning.

What crap. Why do fascists constantly imitate the style and rhetoric of the left in their attempts to build movements that would destroy the left?
