My life is a book already written. It's a tragicomedy consisting of two parts. The first part is a prologue which consists of a recap, in the third-person, of my childhood, up until I was around 16. The second part makes up the bulk of the book and is written in the first-person. The main character's ethos is to through life with as little trouble as possible, so he really doesn't do a whole lot. Nonetheless, he does find himself in numerous strange, albeit pointless in the grand scheme of things, situations which lend a heavy dose of absurdist humor to the book, one of it's few redeeming factors. The novel ends abruptly when the main character (me) dies of a heart attack in the frozen food aisle of a 24h grocery store at 3am.
The book was lucky to even get published, it didn't sell too well, most of the copies printed were returned to be pulped, but a few copies will continue to live on in the dusty crevices of used bookstores.
Here's what the critics had to say about it.
"I gave up half way through. It wasn't humorous or depressing enough to warrant me finishing it. One has to wonder why people even bother to write books like this where nothing even happens." - New York TImes Book Review
"So what? This man's life was not worth being written about" - Harold Bloom
"After I finished reading it I called up the publisher because I thought there was a mistake with my copy and there had to be more to it, not because I particularly wanted to read more, but because I thought there must be some sort of conclusion, but no, there isn't. No loose ends are tied up. I think the author got as tired writing it as we get reading it so he kills off the main character to finish the book." - Boston Globe

I have not read the book (is it even real?), but it sounds like the critics have never heard of "realism".

The term also describes works of art which, in revealing a truth, may emphasize the ugly or sordid.
I love realism in films. The French and the Italians are masters of realist films.

Yes. it's real, but it was published in an alternate universe, so I'm not surprised you've never heard about it.

It's not a matter of realism, the book simply just wasn't well written.

Mine's a notebook being scrawled in when the author remembers.

Mine is an epic adventure full of magic, muscular barbarians (me in plural), arcane wizards (me in plural), and heroic heroism. In the book our heroes (me) fight unending hordes of cyborg-ninja-mutant-nazi-sniper-zombies. These creatures are as name implies: grossly mutated, half-machine half-undead racist ninjas with 100% accuracy with scoped weapons.
There is a deal for a movie in which I wake up, brush my teeth, and look outside just to see how my house is about to be overrun by an evil conspiracy of nazis, fascist japanese, vietcong, general communists, organized religion and international bankers. Thusly I casually grab my minigun and start shooting. The plot takes a turn after an hour when my minigun runs out of ammo and I am forced to loot on nazi MG-42. Then the movie unfolds as I unveil (read: slaughter) the conspiracy and continue as a free, albeit a rather muscular man.

I still like realism in movies.

My book is still being written. It might be a one-shot or the beginning of an entire series that starts off in the 21st century but then continues out into time and space.

My life is a book already written...
I found your book under my bed and masturbated over the pages where you described your mother sending you to school in girl's shoes.
Then I burnt it because I couldn't live with the guilt.
Although I ripped out and saved the page where I wrote this confession.

My book is about an inner-city kid becoming a communist and joining the 27 club. Wacky misadventures include being mistaken for a prostitute during a midnight stroll, finding love in the wrong places, doing drugs, and pretending to be a Molly Maguire.
