View Full Version : Dismissing BNP's myths
Bitter Ashes

Hiya
I've been hitting a bit of difficulty with debunking the lies that the BNP are enticing thier new converts over with and wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
These new converts have been lured into believing that the BNP are not racists and some of these new supporters are even members of ethnic minorities themselves. I have already pointed out that the BNP are just saying whatever they need to to get the votes and that Nick Griffin has already been prosecuted for inciting racial hatred. For that I was accused of conspiriciy theories and they believe that Griffin is a reformed character :/
I've also pointed out that even if the BNP did get into power and launch themselves upon imigrants, it would make no dent in the situation of poverty of the working class whatsoever, but they dont believe me, even when presented with the figures.
I'm really at witt's end. :crying:

Clegg? Wrong party my friend...that's the Lib Dems.
Well this is nothing new, the BNP have been attempting to push the 'respectable party' image for quite a while now, roughly since Nick Griffin took charge of the party.
There are plenty of things that you could use to counter BNP arguments. like you say, they are still racists, and are anti-working class. These examples and arguments are quite easy to come by, the 'whites only' policy is still pushed within the party, and many members/organisers are still openly racist (a 5 minute dig around their facebook profiles will expose this). The policies of the BNP are very racist, a complete end to immigration (exceptions possibly being some white European immigrants), and 'voluntary' (whatever that may mean) repatriation of 'non- white European' immigrants.
As to the anti-working class nature; their strong hatred of unions, and the operations of their scab union, Solidarity. The way they split working class communities along racial lines. And for some historical referrences, them calling for the Army being brought in to deal with the striking Miners in the mid-80s.
They have also shown their anti-democratic nature, for instance in their November(?) issue of Identity magazine, where they state that they would like elections every 8 years instead of the current 4/5, and also that citizens need to show a 'certain level of intelligence' before being eligable to vote.
There are the obvious arguments and examples; countless Hitler worshipers, Holocaust denial, and anti-Semitism of some members. I personally believe these are over used though, and are often used as little more than attempted smears by the media etc. Be more thoughtful and think about how you can relate these arguments to the people you are trying to convince. The BNP have gotten fairly good at convincing some people of their policies and so forth, but I guess the sooner you expose the truth to them, then the better.
Hope that helps. :)

Saw this when searching about for BNP on google . I post as weblypistol on reddit , mainly about the BNP . So loads of stuff put up there to show how they are racist .
The 2005 manifesto is jam packed . Use their own words against them. Point out how they couch old ideas in new terms , and when the BNP claim they are not racist , point to their own words and deeds.
It seems I can't post links , but if you go to reddit and search for my posts you'll find a load of stuff I've been putting out there .
Here's some choice examples from the manifesto
"We therefore believe that the myth that “we are all the same under the skin” will soon be as discredited as its feminist equivalent, and that all political parties will have to drastically amend their thinking to reflect the new reality"
I think that's fairly clear.
"While accepting the right of law-abiding minorities, in our country because they or their ancestors came here legally, to remain here and to enjoy the full protection of the law against any form of harassment or hostility, we will also seek to emphasise the importance of the prior status of the aboriginal people. This would be a national extension of the ‘Sons and Daughters’ policy in priority on housing and school places lists which BNP councils seek to implement at local level"
In other words apartheid ( and yes they even promote the idea of separate schools , but interestingly seek integration to end sectarianism in Northern Ireland , that would because whites have to stick together). And whilst it's nice of them to claim here to allow ethnic minorities to stay , life with restricted services and a repeal of all race/discrimination laws etc will not make life comfortable , so they very kindly propose
" immigrants and their descendants who are legally here are afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin "
And this is what they publicly willingly present as their aims.
