It was pretty awesome.
But then the anti-Communist speech my teacher gave ruined it.
Something like "You see the total control? That's Communism for you." and other things like that.

Stand up to your teacher! Question him/her publicly! Argue him! Deny her statements! Give them not a moments rest!
That is the way of a revolutionary.

There lives a woman in Sweden who only could get turned on by the Berlin Wall. She had bought several pieces of it, which she is sleeping together with or having on her yard. She has also officially married the Berlin Wall.

He isn't that very much in the way of Leftism.
He thought Trotsky died in his sleep.
Didn't know what Kronstandt was.
Obviously didn't understand that the USSR was Socialist.
I was tired and he's not good for debate he would just say "oh" and continue with the lesson.

Should have bounced the piece of wall off their head.

America must have really low expectations when it comes to teachers. I always thought Ms Hoover was a caricature.

If he 'understood the USSR was socialist' he'd still be wrong. Anarcho-semantics!

I went and saw a section of the Berlin Wall once, but I had to go to the Reagan Presidential Library to do it, so it was pretty much an even trade off.
And no, I didn't pay the entrance fee, the wall was outside the museum proper.

I have a piece of the Berlin Wall in my house. My parents were there when they tore it down, and took a nice chunk of it with them. Nothing special, really. Just a piece of concrete with some graffiti on it.

My uncle brought me back a piece from his holiday in Berlin as a 'present'.
I never kept it.
When i went to Florida, i got to see a piece of moon rock. Now that was awesomeness. I wanted to steal it.

I would like to have this part of the wall with kissing Brezhenv and Honecker (the GDR president, who was notorious for his extensive brother kisses with other socialist leaders) in a Trabi (the "wonder car" of East Germany), but I doubt it is still complete and available. :(

He thought Trotsky died in his sleep.
That's almost insulting...
Anyway, what's so special about a piece of a concrete wall? The Berlin Wall didn't exactly help us get a good reputation...

I have a piece of the wall, someone bought it for me when they visited Berlin. If I was rich I'd buy all the pieces of the wall out there, fly to Berlin and super glue the wall back together.

My dad was there when the wall came down, and I have a bit of it somewhere in the loft. It's not much to look at or seems interesting but i always feel good when I think I've got an important piece of History in my loft

Yes he did think that Trotsky died in his sleep.
I almost felt bad informing him that he was ice axed.
