plus if you're a real hip hop head - you'll know of the
x-ecutioners, beat junkies or skratch pickles - they all make their own beats and literally scratch the vocals to make the lyrics. versitile and then some.

peace

I like all of those except for the x-cutioners

But what I'm trying to say is that Hi-tek doesn't just go for the straight beat and scratch

his shit is soulful.

I don't give a damn how sappy "Love Language" is that shit is deep

not to mention "the Blast", "Too late", "Memories Live", "Africa Dream"

those beats are like fuckin...it's like looking at a fuckin slvador dali painting while reading catcher in the rye while laying in bed with your wife

It's almost too deep to describe

my mom hates that song

but then she goes and likes that song by the Big Tymers?

then she goes and likes what they do by the roots

it freaks me out

anyway the album version was alot better than teh video version..even though the video version was longer

listen to pete rock beats from the 1988-1998 and tell me he isnt soulful? his name is SOUL BROTHER #1... honestly, listen to a lot of him and premier and you'll see where hi-tek gets his style from, its not a diss - just the truth...

Pete Rock and Premier ARE better than Hi-Tek.

Hi-Tek is great, but not yet in the arena so to speak.

Premier is probably the ultimate in hip-hop. No one even comes close. Pete is the only one that attempts but I still prefer Premo.

Hi-Tek needs more time. He needs time to refine his skills. Get back to me in like 5 years and maybe I'll have changed my tune (so to speak).

Any Gangstarr will give you a good look at Premo.

I really like Moment of Truth. Actually, if you pick up "Full Clip" you will get a good taste of Premo's Gangstarr shit.

Premier has worked with SOOOO many ppl though.

Start with Gangstarr. Jazz Thing is incredible. I can't really think of the names of the songs though...I really just listen to Gangstarr straight through and don't pay attention to what song it is.

However, as Gangstarr goes, I think DWYCK is one of their hottest songs.

Best DJ is deffintly Priemer, listen to 8 steps to perfection with the Co-Flow, Ill shit dog.

I also like deffinetly Hi-Tek (The Blast, one of the relaxed beats ever.) And not to forget Roc Raida (X-ecutioners) and DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill, But ESPECIALLY the Soul Assassins)

DJ Krush is one of my favorites. Milight is my favorite album by him. The song Shinjiro he did with Mos Def is classic. Alot of his beats are just really abstract and deep, and don't necessarily fit into any genre. The song Zen Approach on his album Zen had Black Thought in it. Also a pretty tight track.
