Heh, I was wondering if that was a typo or not.
I hate Mike Patton. That one song by Faith No More sucks major ass.

What song? Epic? If you are a fan of Queen you should definitely check out Mr. Bungle. Mike Patton has probably the most diverse sounding voices on the planet. You can't judge the guy based on one song he wrote in 1989 when he still had long nasty hair and neon clothes like everyone else in California at the time. I mean, how would you feel if he judged you like that?
But yeah, Freddie Mercury kicked ass.

I'm interpreting this to be "best vocalist" as many of the people I'm about to list do not sing in the conventional melodic way one usually assumes of a singer. But hey, undoubtedly, the best vocalist in the whole wide world is Maynard James Keenan from Tool and sometimes A Perfect Circle. That guy can do anything. Also credit to:
Jacob Bannan (Converge)
Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
Mike Patton (Faith No More/Mr Bungle/Fantomas/Tomahawk/sometime Dillinger Escape Plan etc)
Chino Moreno (Deftones/Team Sleep)
Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw)
Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin/Page and Plant)
Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne)

Once again this proves that aside from myself, Guerrillaradio has the best taste in music on this little internet hangout. I'm surprised he's the first one to mention Maynard the Magnificant. Maynard has a set of pipes with unmatched beauty.
Anthony Kiedis = Complete asshole who belongs to a band that seem to be losing more and more of what originally made them amazing. The Chili Peppers have only been getting worse since Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Their new album is a noble attempt at trying to move in a new direction, but in reality...it was shit.
But really, here's the real big beef I have with Kiedis:
"OK, here's what happened, 'cause I know he has his opinion, now here's mine. In that interview the writer said, 'Are you guys sick of people ripping you off?' I said, 'Who are you referring to?' and he said, 'Well, Mike Patton in Faith No More.' So I told him what our drummer said, and yeah I watch that 'Epic' video, and I see him jumping up and down, rapping, and it looked like I was looking in the mirror. The thing is, I had no problem with him personally. I mean, I love 'The Real Thing,' and I liked his vocals on that record. I mean, when I heard the record I noticed subtle similarities, but when I saw that video it was like, 'Wait a second here, what the fuck?'" -- Anthony Kiedis
"I mean, the Chili Peppers is something I hadn't really thought of in years. And I'll go ahead and tell you this. Why not? I haven't told anybody else yet. We were looking at booking some Mr. Bungle shows in Europe this past summer, some big festivals, which is something we'd never done before. We figured it'd be a good thing: We'd get to play in front of a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise hear us. Our agent was in the process of booking these festivals, and it was becoming apparent that we'd landed some pretty good ones—one in France, another one in Holland, some big-name festivals. Turns out someone's holding a grudge! We were booted off several bills, including a really big festival in Australia, specifically because Anthony Kiedis did not want us on the bill. He threatened to pull the Chili Peppers if Mr. Bungle was on the bill. Now, rationalize that one! That's so fucking pathetic! I mean, this guy's selling a million records! We are not even a speck of dust on this guy's ass! What's the fucking problem? It's unbelievable." -- Mike Patton
"I would not have given two fucks if they played with us there, but after I heard about some Halloween show where they mocked us and read another interview where Patton talked shit about us, and I was like, you know what, fuck him and fuck the whole band." -- Anthony Kiedis
"We were booked, months in advance, to do eleven festival dates in Europe. Come Summer, we get a call from the three biggest of those festivals, all of them the same day, saying that we can't play, because the headlining band retains the right to hire and fire whomever they wish. We found out it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so our manager called their manager to find out what the hell was going on, and their manager was very apologetic, and said, 'We're really sorry, we want you to know this doesn't reflect the management's position, or the band's for that matter, it's Anthony Kiedis who wants this.'" -- Trey Spruance
So you see, my friends, this is simply NOT an acceptable way of people treating your favorite singer. What would your favorite guitarist, Robert Fripp, think of you if you tolerated it? He'd know that you'd turn around and stab him in the back too, and then he'd kick your ass.

An Ani DiFranco fan!!! Yay!!!! She is sooo awesome, so real! There's a bloody good poem on her new-ish album that my mate's mate has and i ehard it, all about 9-11 and how shit the US is, she rocks! I adore her!
Also I love:
Katie from Queen adreena-she sounds so vunerable but so sordid, I love it.
Both the girls from t.A.T.u, especially the one with the more emotional voice that always sounds like she's about to burt into angry sobs
Trent Reznor cos no one does what he does as well as he does it, so damn tormented and sexy
What's-his-name from Glassjaw from what I've heard he has to be on this list
Daniel John's got a nice voice too
Thom Yorke
Thingy from QOTSA
My fave probably has to be Katie but I'm not a huge vocal fan. I like guitars!!!

King Diamond from Mercyful Fate and the guy from Manowar (I forget his name). Jesus, I have no clue how the fuck they could hit those high-ass notes without getting kicked in the balls. Pure talent, I think.
It irritates the shit out of people who don't like metal though. Its a pretty aquired taste.

Glenn Danzig/Jerry Only of the Misfits. I love their 50s vocalling style. On their website Misfits.com they have a preview clip from their Project 1950 album, a cover of "Runaway" by (I Think) Del Shannon. Very good.. Jerry Only does vocals for that since it's new and Glenn left the band in 1983.
No one believes me on this one but I really enjoy Andrea Bocelli. I don't particularly like opera stuff, but he's very good.
