no I believe they SUCK ass my friend.
they are ok if you're one of those trendy nu-metal kids.
they are ok to listen to for a little while, but after a while, you must come to realize that their music is stupid. du hast du hast. It's just chilidish.

20th January 2003, 01:29
Everything okay if you're a poser, trendy nu-metal kid, trendy poppunk, trendy, poser, blahblah. Who gives a fuck?
I don't think Rammstein sucks, I find their music to be great. I thought the lyrics to Du Hast were hilarious. With the double meanings and word play, it was great. Frankly, I love almost all their songs.
Crying Nut and RUX!!!

????

ComradeJunichi
20th January 2003, 01:39
Crying Nut and Rux are Korea punk bands. Well, the first is a little more poppy the latter is punkadelically punk. Message me and I'll give you a link to good RUX. Dude, RUX has one of the greatest songs ever. Probably my favorite.
What was it called again? Translations? Du hast, or Du Hasst, means "You hate" or "You have". The whole song is about marriage and all this other crap. They have a bunch of..um..Well, just go look up the lyrics and the song meaning. They'll point out all the funny shiznit dawg. Aiight?

20th January 2003, 01:54
It means you hate.
"Du hast mich" is "you hate me." I don't even know German but you pick it up here and there from Rammstein. They don't suck and I'm far from a "trendy nu-metal kid."
ComradeJunichi
20th January 2003, 02:48
It also means You have. There's also a thing about vaginas :P Want me to give you the link about the stuff?

The best band that there ever existed is Freundeskreis from Germany if you understand German you need to check it out. And even if you don't they got some french and english songs so check it out. Not very leftist bt much leftier then most.

Freuniskreis, yeah, I've heard of him. Tabula Rasa is a good song that's sort of in English. Do you know any of his Websites?
Control Machete is pretty good.
And I heard this Swahili rap piece, I don't know who it was by though but it was called "Mpaka saa Ngapi"... I really wish I knew who made that.

Hi, I´m from Germany, just wanted to say that Rammstein is nothing but pathetic crap.... While there are quite a few nice German bands It´s a pity that these nerds are so succesful in the rest of the world (because in Germany most people just laugh about them...)
Son of Scargill
7th February 2003, 01:56
Name those bands koedl.
Koedl
7th February 2003, 11:38
Well... Toten Hosen (Punk) used to be nice although recently they somehow have lost their spirit....
Some songs of Freundeskreis - have good lyrics (was already mentioned before I think). Then Herbert Grönemeyer (also very good lyrics though could be a bit boring for foreigners).
Ah... Normahl - another Punkband, some of the old Ärzte songs are awesome, too......

Agreed, I don't like Rammstein either. I hate it how their are playing with fascist aesthetics, and "Deutschtum" (a word that can't be transtalted into English...) Thank to those suckers Leni Riefenstahl made it to MTV, a shame.

That is absolutly correct, Junichi.
Learning German with Malte: :)
Du hasst = You hate
Du hast = you have
("Du hasst" is pronounced the same as "du hast" )
Du has(s)t mich.. = You hate me
Du hast mich gefragt... = You have asked me...
Du hasst mich gefragt, und ich hab nichts gesagt = You have asked me, and I said nothing.

I like DTH quite a lot, what little I've heard of Die Artze is good too.Not keen on what I've heard of Freundeskreis, but then I've only heard 2 or 3 songs, and not really my kind of music.
Herbert Gronemeyer?Has he done film soundtracks,or am I totally confused??Probably confused! The name seems familiar. As for Rammstein, being an ignorant foreigner,I can see their appeal to non-german speakers.Basic metal, but the voice, language and imagery seem to compliment each other. And not knowing the language, they can get away with some really average material.Didn't know they were capitalizing on the Nazi imagery though, only seen a couple of live tracks on TV.
Normahl I'll have to look out for.Cheers.

Haha! Learning German with Malte, yay!
Tod euch scheidet: Until death seperates you.
Tod der Scheide: Until the death of the vagina.
*giggle* Heh, yeah the whole songs about marriage and double meanings. Funny that.
I like Rammtsein, they have great music.

Herbert Grönemeyer was an actor, he played a role in "das Boot", as film which was quiet successfull outside Germany. Maybe you know his name from there.

I love the heavy guitar riffs, but they're also melodic. How can you listen to Rammstein and not go crazy? It's great, and Till's voice is amazing. As for 'nazis', none of their songs have to do anything with politics. How is any of their stuff nazi imagery. But I saw some guy heiling at their concert.
ComradeJunichi
7th February 2003, 12:41
I saw Das Boot, that was good stuff. When the crew gets on the one boat (I watched this a while back so I can't explain very well), and the crew and the crew on the other ship start heiling - was HILARIOUS. They looked so stupid, but so serious. SIEG.........HEIL! SIEG...........HEIL! SIEG.........HEIL!
I'm sorry but that was hilarious.
Also the German dude in SLC Punk, Malte you said that guy was a popular actor in Germany? That guy is hilarious.

Aha!I thought I'd heard the name. Thanks for that.
Now I think about it,it was Klaus Doldinger who did the soundtrack for Das Boot.It was a bit of a hit here as a dance re-mix.Bizarre. :)

They used material from a Nazi propaganda film about the olympics in Berlin in 193? in one of their music videos.
