Pretty sure we need a thread for the discussion of the all the top flight football transfers, both rumoured and confirmed:

Gareth Barry: Gone from Aston Villa to Manchester City. I found this a bit odd because the main reason for his wanting to leave Villa was for champions league football. I guess vastly improved wages and the promise of alot of spending to come must have won him over. Thoughts? £12m

Christian Benitez: Has gone to newly promoted birmingham from mexian side Santos Laguna. Something of an unknown quantity for me. Thought to be worth more than £6.5m

Kaka: Rumoured to be on his way out to Real Madrid, although Chelsea may have thrown a spanner in the works with another stupendous bid.

That puts the total spent already in the premiership at: £18.5m

TEVEZ NEXT FOR CITY?
Gareth Barry is in the bag, so now Manchester Citeh turn their attentions to more shiny new players.

And somewhat inevitably, Carlos Tevez is the man most of the papers reckon in the next in line for a large, large bag of filthy lucre.

The Sun reports that City will sign Tevez, unless Manchester United pull their collective finger out and stump up the required money to turn his loan deal into a permanent one.

Apparently a £32million deal has already been agreed with Kia Joorabchian and Citeh, but he is still after a move to United, and will meet with David Gill today.

However, The Daily Star reports that United will stump up the £32million, but the Argentinian might not actually be that keen. Odd.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror gets very excited by the swift Barry deal, and claims Tevez is just one man on a list that also includes Joleon Lescott, Kolo Toure and Samuel Eto'o, while The Daily Express claims that Didier Drogba is their next target. Yikes.

I reconed Tevez would go to Liverpool, but City have the money and all agents involved are greedy fucks so it could well happen.

THE KAKA STUFF
Despite assorted denials from AC Milan, most of the papers this morn concur that Kaka is indeed heading off to Real Madrid, but they have some late competition.

The Guardian says: 'Kaka was the subject of a dramatic late bid from Chelsea tonight although Real Madrid remained confident that they would hold off the London club and secure the £65m signature of one of the game's most sought after players.'

Word from Sky Sports News is that personal terms have yet to be agreed with the player, but The Independent begs to differ: 'A five-year contract worth £7.7million a season, with the club taking 50 per cent of the player's image rights, was also agreed with Kaka's father, Bosco Leite, although it was Leite who is understood to have blocked the rubber-stamping of the deal.'

Bloody hell - even the BBC Website thinks the deal is all done.

"AC Milan and Real reckon they have the basis for a deal," Spanish football expert Sid Lowe told BBC Radio 5 Live. "But there are things in the way, like the commission to be paid to Kaka's father, and with the European elections coming up on Thursday, Berlusconi will not want to lose him just now."

Crivens.

Seems in the bag from what all commentators say, will be interesting to see him play for real, and see what this move does to Real's constant attention to C. Ronaldo

CHELSEA TO SIGN DANIEL STURRIDGE
Don't worry disappointed Chelsea fans - Carlo Ancelotti has got a man lined up to compensate for missing out on Kaka.

Messi? Samuel Eto'o? Emmanuel Adebayor? Nope - Daniel Sturridge. So says The Daily Mail, anyway.

Apparently Man Citeh's reserves must be big news in Italy, because the paper claims Chelsea have targeted Sturridge to put a bit of youth back into their ageing squad.

They do also claim Alexandre Pato is a target, with a £45million bid for the young Brazilian being prepared as we speak, and the paper also claims Chelsea will offer Didier Drogba a new contract.

 I recon Chelsea will buy much bigger than this, but who else apart from Pato?

LIVERPOOL BACK IN FOR SILVA
To Liverpool now, and The Daily Mirror claims that Rafa Benitez - despite saying earlier this year that he would be too expensive - is still interested in signing David Silva from Valencia.

They claim Liverpool have offered £15million plus Andriy Voronin for their man, but they might have a scrap on their hands to both get Silva and keep Javier Mascherano.

It's those pesky chaps at Real Madrid that are causing the problems, with them apparently 'waiting in the wings' for Silva, and preparing a bid of around £18million for Mascherano, which might also include Gabriel Heinze.

Interesting, I hope it happens, epecially since Liverpool have the funds available with not buying Barry and having such a strong Spanish contingent and Champions League record.

GERRARD WANTS OWEN?
The Daily Express gets very excited about some reasonably banal quotes from Steven Gerrard, claiming that his words suggest he is 'desperate' for Liverpool to sign Michael Owen.

Judge for yourself here (http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8698_5360333,00.html).

Injury prone, but with a prolific record (when he plays) if they get him for cheap then I can see it, but I don't see why Liverpool would bother with the risk.

BENT FOR SUNDERLAND
It's weird how, even when managers change, the same clubs are still linked to the same players.

The Daily Mirror this morning claims that Sunderland will sign Darren Bent for around £10million after Steve Bruce agrees his move from Wigan.

It would be rather neat if Djibril Cisse did indeed sign for Spurs, as the Mirror also claims, while 'Arry Redknapp is apparently also prepared to listen to offers for Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Tom Huddlestone could be moving as well, it says here, with Bolton a possible destination. The poor sod.

WENGER CHASING MATUIDI
Quick line from Arsenal now, and The Daily Mirror claims that Arsene Wenger is chasing St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

The French youngster is apparently valued at £5million, while Wenger also has his eye on Stephane M'bia, who played footsie with Arsenal and Everton for the majority of last summer, but didn't put out in the end.

Wenger is a god and can do no wrong, his word is gospel. I will not argue.

AND THE REST...
Bolton hope to beat Blackburn in the race to sign Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis...Tomasz Kuszczak is planning talks with Sir Alex Ferguson about his future at Manchester United...Hull have offered £800,000 for Le Havre striker Amadou Alassane...Wigan are alarmed to have discovered that the compensation fee for Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has shot up to £3million...West Brom have agreed a £2.5million fee for on-loan winger Juan Carlos Menseguez...Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson will have to take a pay cut of nearly 50 per cent to salvage his career at West Brom...Joe Hart can leave Manchester City on loan...Peterborough are talking to West Ham striker Freddie Sears about taking him on a season-long loan...Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford is a £2million transfer target for Newcastle.

The rumors about C.Ronaldo's move to Real have started again, especially after Real President when got asked if he would get Ronaldo, he said i dont know, but what i know is that we will get the best players in the world.
I hope none from Tevez and C.Ronaldo leave Manchester Utd but as it seems the first is amost sure to go, and the second its just another serial for this summer.
Ohh and matuidi, i have been using him long time ago in pro, he is an excellent player:D

It would appear that Hull have decided to strengthen their back line with the acquisition of french center half Steven Mouyokolo. I'm not 100% but ithink it was a free transfer.

Premiership signings:

Gareth Barry - Manchester City (12m)
Steven Mouyokolo - Hull (free)
Christian Benitez - Birmingham (6.5m+)

Other teams beside mine dont managed any transfer so far, we almost end all of ours as our coach is very discipline and wants to have all the players in the summer training and prepare in the best athletic centers in europe to have a good condition.(first trainning was today, just came from it, and soon enough they are leaving for italy, sadly without the players participating in their national teams )Rumors of huge transfers we heard A LOT, but still nothing huge.Anw i think leave this thread for the most known teams(Man Utd, Barca, Roma etc) and leave our own teams transfers in the gfd thread, so we dont fill this thread with thinks that there are some people that dont care:p
The biggest rumor heard was of Roberto Carlos, but he seems to enjoy his time in Turkey, and tbh the team is better than ours, but we usually try to get such players with giving lots of money lol.

(maybe I should post this in the Dutch football thread - anyway, for now I'll post it here, since it's about any transfer rumours and it's also international)

-Panathinaikos are after Real Madrid's Royston Drenthe. Sounds right to me. Real immediately paid a ridiculous amount of money for Drenthe, just because he played well in a youth tournament. That always happens. Drenthe played surprisingly often this season, but from what I've gathered, the Real fans basically felt so much pity for him that they didn't give him too much shit. Panathinaikos would be more up to his level.

-Roda JC's Sekou Cissé appears to be on his way to FC Twente. They want to purchase the striker in case Elia and Arnautovic leave. He is a decent player, but a lot of experts are skeptical about him, and I can agree with that. Anyway, Feyenoord are also after him. The Twente chairman said that he is appalled by this fact, and claims that Twente already have a deal with Cissé himself, and just need to agree with Roda about the transfer sum. If Roda lose their last play-off match, they'll get relegated, so Cissé will definitely have to leave if Roda want to have any chance of financial survival.

-Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink may be returning to the Netherlands. PSV and FC Twente are both reported to be interested in the Celtic striker. PSV is a top club where he has previously played, and which he is still good enough for. But Twente is where his heart lies, as he grew up in their region.

-Several clubs are reported to be looking into AZ's Moussa Dembélé. The Belgian has been in top form this season. Genoa are the most important name on this list.

-Martin Jol wants to make Twente's left back Edson Braafheid his first reinforcement. Braafheid won his first cap in a friendly match this year.

-Feyenoord are chasing NEC's right back Dani Fernandez, but Feyenoord don't seem to have enough money for transfers. Personally, I think it would be ridiculous if they were to spend what little money they have on a position that they've got covered already. They previously wanted to sign an unnamed transfer-free striker (an area they really need to reinforce), but they couldn't even afford his wages!

-Van Gaal is up to his old Barcelona tricks of raiding his home country. According to VI and Bild, Bayern have already made a deal with Danijel Pranjic of Heerenveen. If Wesley Sneijder no longer fits into Real's first team plans, Bayern are also interested in his services.

-Along with PSV, Ajax and Schalke 04, Bayern are also interested in Edson Braafheid. He has a buy-out clause in his contract for only €2M.

ok we have some BIG! signings:

Deigo has joined Juventus from Werder Bremen. He could give them that creativity they lack (with nedved the age he is). Hopefully they can challenge inter next season.

I also heard something about Deigo Milito of Genoa joing Inter. I'm not too sure if it's true though.

According to this site: http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/05/20/1277226/official-diego-milito-thiago-motta-join-inter-sergio-floccari-to-

So inter seem to have signed Deigo Milito. He has had a good season, but i'm starting to question Mourinho's transer dealings. They have also signed ex barcelona man Thiago Motta. He has had a great season, but it seems like something of a gamble to me.

Floccari has gone to Genoa, i guess to make up for the loss of Milito. I know for a fact he has had a good season and i seem to remember reading in "world soccer" that he was the man of the moment in Italy.

So, all in all, a big day in Italy. Probably the biggest day of transfers yet.

I have forsaken my duties, i missed several transfers and here they are:

Ex juve man Fabio Cannavaro has rejoined his old club from Real Madrid. Seems like an odd move from a Juventus perspective, considering he's 35 years old.

Udinese hitman Fabio Quagliarella has joined Napoli. I reckon this is paving the way for Argentine Lavezzi to leave the club, i hear he is on the radar of several La Liga and top Serie A sides.

In smaller news:
Eren Derdiyok has joined leverkusen.
Nils Zander has joined manchester city
Lukasz Podolski has joined Cologne (happened a while ago but hey)
Ooijer has joined PSV

There are some smaller transfer which honestly are so small i can't be fucked to list.

Lukasz Podolski has joined Cologne
That's what you get from thinking that you are better than everyone in the world. Lucas thought he was a god when he joined Munich and was regular in the national team as a very young player. His opinion about himself was that high that he missed trainings, fouught with every manager Bayern had and eventually, lost his position. Now he can only play for his old club. Waste, but who cares.

Really, they should cut their losses and try to target players not being tracked by $$$ giants like Real or Chelsea. Yaya has been linked with Arsenal for a while, just because his Brother Kolo plays for them. It's one which has been knocking around a while but unless Barcelona really want to get rid of him i can't see it happening.

Benitez ruled out the sale of Mascherano today so that ones a no no by the looks of things.

Javi Martinez could well happen. We all no how much Benitez likes his Spanish players and he is definatly a player with alot of potential. Could be a good move, although i would question buying him over a striker.

I don't think Lavezzi warrants the price tag he would no doubt command. Perhaps if you were able to get him for £13m then it may be worth a punt. Really though im not sure how good he would be for you.

If the new Real manager can forge a consistent team, and make these players really gel together, they have a chance. But there is just as much chance that they fail and remain stuck with a bunch of overpaid players.

Villa is their best purchase, IMO.

There is a situation here in Serbia. The so called "football mafia". They pressure team's managers to play certain players so they could be well sold. That has been the case for over than 20 players from serbian national team as well.
Ivan Obradovic, however, has made his way quietly. He has been standard in Partizan this season, but, more surpisingly, in the national team (now under Radomir Antic, former Atletico Madric coach, and the only man who ever managed Real and Barcelona). Let me remind you that in serbian national team there are players that play a significant role in international cubs for that position(LB)-Kolarov(Lazio fuckers), Lukovic (Udinese) or Dragutinovic (Sevilla). Antic played him every single game.
I saw him live on a few games, he looked descent, but I am not an expert.

Interestingly enough it appears that the Madrid money tap may be running dry. Word is that negotiations over Villa have stalled at a relatively paltry €40 (Barca may be ready to pay more) and that they're looking to Forlan as a cheaper alternative. Rumour also has it that they've been unable to match Munich's price for Ribéry. Madrid may need to sell on those Dutch players quickly if they want to keep spending

I think only Sneijder, Robben and Van Nistelrooy stand a chance of keeping their placeBut from Madrid's perspective only the first two (Van Nistelrooy has no place in the new all-star attacking lineup) are likely to bring in the big money necessary to pay for further purchases. Their quality makes them more, not less, likely to leave in the summer

But from Madrid's perspective only the first two (Van Nistelrooy has no place in the new all-star attacking lineup) are likely to bring in the big money necessary to pay for further purchases. Their quality makes them more, not less, likely to leave in the summer
Yeah, reality has already caught up with me, especially now that Real have published an actual "transfer list". I guess Ruud should settle for the bench, or for a nice sub-top European club, to spend the rest of his days.

"His wages are too expensive, for one thing, and, for another, you have to ask whether he still has the urge, the bottle and the drive....He's looking a bit injury-prone these days, and he does love his horses. His wages will come down, but it would still be a hell of a lot for us to pay someone more than 25.000 a week"

More transfers and the big one of the day is:

Thomas Vermaelen is joining Arsenal. Glad wenger's wacked out his checkbook nice and early. The fee is beleived to be around 10m, perhaps Charming man can tell us a little about him.

Also Jordi Gomez has joined countryman Martinez at Wigan athletic for a fee of 1.7m from Espanyol.

About Vermaelen: well, nothing that hasn't already been said. A talented defender, but I didn't expect him to make it to Arsenal already. But maybe he'll surprise us. I think I said it before, but in the Netherlands, there are much higher expectations of defenders, they also need to push up the the defensive line in possession, be skilled in build-up play, etc.

I think English sides generally use different tactics, and Vermaelen may do well there.

Edit: the new rumour is that Jol wants to take Joris Mathijsen with him to Amsterdam. I'm never much of a fan of Mathijsen in the international games (although he has improved during and after Euro 2008), but apparently he did a fine job at HSV, both Huub Stevens and Martin Jol have always been pleased with him. If he keeps playing well, he'd be a good replacement for Vermaelen at Ajax. A fucktonne of new transfers people:

Felipe Melo has gone to Juventus. Oooooolala Melo and Deigo, could really threaten for the Scudeto next season. Going to be a nasty draw in europe for someone. An undisclosed fee as far as i can tell.

Hernan Crespo now plays his football for Genoa, a replacement for Deigo Milito i'm sure. Undisloced fee.

French wonderkid Yoann Gourcuff has left AC Milan and joined the side he was on loan at and the League Champions, Bordeaux. I'm sure alot of you have seen his "goal of the season", if not then type in Yoann Gourcuff wonder goal into youtube. That was for about £15m.

Luis Jiminez has joined West Ham. I hope Zola's new look West Ham can do well, whilst playing nice football. It's a loan deal but i'm sure both clubs concerned will want to make the deal permenant.

Oguchi Onyewu has moved to, believe it or not, fucking AC Milan. Good luck to the big american i say. Another bloody undisclosed fee for fuck sake.

Lucho Gonzales, the Porto Captain has joined Marseille for a fee of £15m. A real statement of intent from the club, could Lyon's crippled hold on the french league be broken for a second consecutive time?

Lisandro Lopez the Porto Hitman has joined Lyon. Anyone feeling slightly sorry for porto? That was for a fee of about £24m. A really good signing i think, could be exactly what they need after the sale of Benzema.

Matias Fernandes has left Villarreal. He's a quality player so i'm wondering why he's left the spanish league. For a bargain £3.5m. Wow, what a signing for Sporting Lisbon.

Nihat has also left villarreal and joined his old club Besiktas. Excellent signing, i guess he has moved back to the club he loves. A good signing for sure. Not sure about the price for this one.

Javier Saviola has joined Benfica. Wow, a fucking great signing. They could really threaten for the portugese title. That cost £5m and looks to be an great signing.

Of course City did have a decent enough front four last season but their defence continually let them down. Still not convinced that they have the strength at the back to compete for the title. Which is not to mention the problems that automatically come with having a large stable of egotistical bastards... sorry, I meant star players

Yup i'm pretty worried tbh, like by the sounds of it he'll be a quality replacement for Alonso but his injury record is a def worry, i mean we need as many fit attacking players as we can get, as Torres doesn't have the best injury record either.

I read in the daily Mirror that Aquillani is a Benito loving fascist

It's true, basically:

So if Liverpool fail to win the league this season, will he also be hung upside down by his balls? We can only hope so.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Real Madrid to Milan.
Wesley Sneijder from Real Madrid to Internazionale.
Arjen Robben from Real Madrid to Bayern Munich.

The new Real manager, Pellegrini, was willing to give both of these players a chance in the first team. But in this new Real, the manager is still only the puppet of the president, who wanted to get rid of these players. It's probably better for them, too.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, Royston Drenthe and Rafael van der Vaart are still left. Apparently, Van Nistelrooy can still count on a first team spot, despite his age, and he earned an ovation from the fans when he came back after months of injury. Drenthe, supposedly the poorest of the Dutch players, has also been given the chance to fight for a place in the team, as a left back. Van der Vaart needs to get the hell out of there, though, because they evidently don't want him.

Wesley Sneijder is a good capture for any team. I still want VDV to come to england.

It's too bad that Huntelaar didn't go to England, the Premier League seems better for him than the Serie A. But Sneijder can always do well, and I hope VdV finds a good club. Maybe he can go back to Germany, Hamburg could use him. An English club would be good as well. Which clubs could use a player like him?

Everton perhaps, although me may be out of the price range. Aston villa maybe.

Atletico Madrid have accepted a 5 million pound offer from Everton for Johnny Heitinga. Heitinga was a bit of a failure in Spain, so I wonder how he'll fare at Everton.
