Ok I'm lying Kweli and Nas are cool...Nas was at Kweli's party for the release of Quality in fact.

However I find that the two are extremely similar, both are from brooklyn

both are great rappers, both are consious...one is more commercial than the other but both have conciouss content

However I can't see how someone can like Nas but not Kweli

I like nas and all but I have to say something

HIS RHYMES ARE BORING AS FUCK

they come and go with no impression.

Just listen to "The Lost Tapes"

Purple, Fetus, and Black ZOmbie are the only ones that left na impression

on Illmatic One Mic.....Ether too

but I mean besides that...

He's not a bad rapper...I like the songs but that ish just don't move me.

kweli's shit moves me...I know most of his rhymes by heart...hell I can do Bridge to bama all by my self.

And I'm wondering why Kweli is slept on while Nas gets all the shit in the world

Not to ate on Nas I like him and he deserves the praise

but if he deserves the praise he gets Kweli deserves ten times as much.

That doesn't make him commercial, it's the mentality that makes cats commercial, Kweli kept it real with The Manifesto and he's never had shit to say about 20" rims and all that bling shit. Nas puts out some sick shit, but Kweli is much more deserving of the attention. It's the stupid kids that are making these morons rich. I'm 16 and I can't believe people my age buy into Ja Rule, Nelly and all those other pop stars.

this kid told me he liked Nas...but he didn't like Kweli cuz he was to concious....what the hell?

Nas and kweli are practically the same person..if it wasn't for the voice and Kweli's beard I couldn't tell them apart

Well that and Kweli is a better rapper, but still how cna you like one but not the other

Nas is from QB, not Brooklyn.

Nas lyrics are not boring. Not all of his songs are "deep" but he's very lyrical for the most part.

One Mic and Ether was from STILLmatic, NOT Illmatic.

Nas dropped Illmatic, which is a milestone in Hiphop music.

Nas has been releasing records since 1991. Talib Kweli's debut I think was in 1998 with Mos Def on the Black Star album. Kweli has released 3 albums (although he's made a lot of ILL guestspots on other people's shit too) - Nas has made like 8.

God's Son is way better than Quality.

Yup, I like Kweli too. In fact he's one of my favorite rappers, but he's not touching Nas at this point. Talib Kweli got dope lyrics but he can't meassure with Nas wehn it comes to flow and lyricism, etc.

I know I got Illmatic and Stillmatic mixed up....my fault I wasn't thinking dstraight

Tell me that nastradamus wasn't Garbage.....it was garbage

Nas on a good day is better than Kweli on an okay day but Kweli on a good day is better than Nas anytime.

I'm tellin you his lyrics aren't memorable

Like I listen to his shit and it just comes and goes.

I like his verse on the new Tupac song I like that

but for the most part hs lyrics don't grab me.

Kweli's flow kills Nas'

I'm not killin him on his lyrical ability cuz the man can flow

but that shit is just...sub par.

He's defenitely in my top five but I mean as far as sayin shit that grabs you he just aint there.

Kweli is consitantly good, Nas is just all around Mediocre

He is great in some areas...but he falls flat in others.

I'm not sayin he's bad he's in my top five...but he just isn't moving.

I mean like four of his songs have just blown me away...no five but I mean other rappers shit amazes me more than Nas'

For instance there are some songs where the lyrics are just shocking, thats how much the rapper ripped it.

Listen to "I remain calm" or "respond react" and tell me that Black Thought and Malik B did not rip the hell outta that shit. Or listen to "Thought @ Work" original or album version and tell me that shit isn't unforgetabl.

Kweli, man Get By is instant classic in my opinion, Shock Body, This Means You, Too Late, The Blast.

That shit is gangsta

THe lost tapes was over hyped and from what I have heard of God's Son it's the same.

Nas, a tight as rapper, one of the best in the game

but Kweli would squahs him

kweli isnt commercail nor will he ever have to popularity as nas....kweli is too political in his rhymes....the average person doesnt like to think that much hence they wont listen to him...i personally like kweli...except when he goes on his "pro-black" tangents...but to each his own....

Definately. A lot of people get that mixed up. I think African nationalism is almost a necessity within the African community at the moment because after hundreds of years of slavery and humiliation, I'm pretty sure your "spirit" would be completely shattered and I think ethnic nationalism is a good way to rebuild pride if used correctly.
