Front for a fascist rally? Or generally people expressing their views?

This is a protest march in admiration of our troops and to rebel against extremists that have protested against our brave soldiers. they have bombed us, preached hatred and Britain has had enough. We need to react NOW before it is too late! we need as many people as possible tell your friends and family and support your country!

This Protest march is going to take place on 4th July 2009, however we need willing people of all types, age and gender. The march will go from Barking to Plaistow. The march is approximately 3 miles long.(i cant post a link cause i dont have 25 posts)

I can’t say I would be opposed to this rally if it is what it says on the tin, however i very much see this as a far right breeding ground. I can also see it going through immigrant neighborhoods, and judging by the Luton ones the will be some bent on intimidating minority groups.

this group is NOT racist any one can come to this march as long as they are proud to be british and are against extremists! Painting themselves this way (maybe they are) kind of puts any opposition on the wrong foot, unless a link to far right groups can be drawn do you think this is worth opposing?

monitor the rally and any links from wikipedia or the groups website. possibly contact the local antifa chapter to see if they have any info.

As far as I can tell: a little from column A a little from column B. It was set up by local football 'fans', the local 'fans' firm are a mixed race firm so the demo wasn't set up to be explicitly 'racist'. However due to its nature of it, it would and did contain a good amount of racists, fascists and other members of the political detritus on the far right.

Even if its not openly fascist or racist it is still strongly nationalistic and no something for leftists to associate with.

Im not actually sure that this is the the same football asociated group setting this up.

I have no plans to associate with it but the question was is it worth opposing.

Anyway yeah will contact a local antifa, see if they have any more info.

Thanks

Oh sorry i didnt really read the OP :s.
It could be them nutters who wanted the pro england march in Leister a while ago in which case they should be opposed or ignored depending on how seriously you take them, its more likely to fuel BNP support than grow into a new movement.

But contacting your local antifa is probs the best move, they will know the score
