So, the big day draws close. Barcelona will play Manchester United, in what should be a great game of attacking football (i doubt it will be though).
Manchester United:
Rio Ferdinand is facing what he called his "greatest struggle to get fit ever", in order to play in the final. With him in, i really think that Barcelona will struggle to break Man U down. Apart from that, they should be able to field a full team.
Barcelona:
They will be missing Abidal and Dani Alves (i think, can't remember perfectly though). However, Iniesta and Henri look like they should be able to take part despite some injury worries.
I think Barcelona will fluke it, mainly because i think Manchester United won't be able to win the CL two times in a row. Should be an excellent match.
Thoughts?

I'm gonna be cheering Barcelona, but i think secretly i would be delighted for an English team to win it two years on the trot. I'd love to see platini's face.

I want Man Utd to win (some residual childhood support remains for them) I think it is pretty fucking impossible to call tho.
You can get good-ish odds just to back the game ending in Pens, worth a flutter if you got the money (which i currently dont :( )

Exactly this from me too!:thumbup1:I was supporting Man Utd since i was watching football(yeaaars now) and i was supporting in the Spain Real:o and hating Barca.Even though the time came around and i hate Real too, my mind keeps going against barca.

I'ld rather support Barce over Real, same reason I'ld support Celtic over Rangers.

Impossible game to call.
Man U have the jumpers that Barca lacks.
Barca can score against every team out there.
Manchester has 10 players who go from one box to another.
Barca has Xavi and Iniesta.
Ronaldo.
Messi.
What a game it will be tonight....
But i think Manchester will win, just because of the fact that there is a man called Alex Ferguson, chewing some gum.

Messi?
Nah i jest, United for the win!
why? because we have a good anti-fascist clan =D
and because there is a massive grassroots campaign to get rid of Glazier the rich american **** who took us over.

1-0 Half time. I have a sneaking feeling it'll be 2-1 United. Hope I'm wrong.the way its gone so far, i severly doubt it. What a strange 1st half. After just 10 mins, i thought that man u would end up 2-0 by half time, but then 1-0 to barcelona!!, since then, barca have bossed it. I hope man u can turn it round and, frankly make the game more interesting, but barca seem to have man u in their bag.

What a shitty game, for the spectators and Man U I mean.
For Barca it must be great.
That game was shit:lol: I was kinda "supporting" Man Utd, but wasnt bad at all that Barca got it, especially after the fans where whistling to the fucking "king" and the spain flag and instead they were using(as usually) the catalonian flag.
Anw the match was shit, i was expecting something more!
Rednordman when i post that post you are talking about here was 15:13 in +2 timezone :p

hmmm. It's frustrating because potentially it could have been a good match. The thing is, with an all England final, even a shit match would have a tense rivalry.

I think you need a beer my friend.I have had many (Beers that is), and certian players behave like children that night (specifically drogba and ballack were in my experience behave like pure children.) Sure the norsk referee had a really awfull game..but what sort of scum bag aims threats at him for him?) it didnt help that souness and Jamie rednap after the game basically indicated that norsk football should get banned as it is simply irrelivant to the rest of europe etc.

Why are you talking about that after the final? Because it was worth saying. I knew that chelsea fans would bring that regretable episode up. it just pissed me off, and low and behold, barca are european champions. Im sad that there was not an english champion, but not that it was not chelsea.

I thought it was a good match. I enjoy watching quality players at their best and I thought Barca at least combined total footballesque moves with flares of individual brilliance. For most of the first half and second half of the second, United also played some quality football. If they couldn't trouble Barca this is because of the Catalan outfit's classy defence and pressing - though they should have scored at least one (Park letting the ball bounce over his head). Apart from United in the first half of the second half, I barely counted an error from either side.
And Messi showed his worth. RE the discussion vs Ronaldo, Cristiano keeps failing to live up int he truly world class events. Messi performed. And if you look at his size eespecially, it was a beautiful header. Not to mention Et'o's goal under npressure and with the outside of his foot.
Of course I am a snobthough. Not only good pasta and wine, I like sophisticated football too. :p
